Yes thats the one i used but if going again wouldnt do the same, it was tricky to fit/mount and there are better solutions
If i was doing it again i think i would just stump up for the passat light which looks a lot better IMO

But I've got this light in my bus so the passat one wont fit,its just the leds and wiring i need..

Like the idea of sourcing the LEDs from existing vehicles @Robert . After market red LEDs are too red. Orange, well too orange. I like the colour of BMWs ambient lighting but getting an LED to match is proving tricky. Time to search on eBay me thinks.

Likewise, started off life as a Shuttle, so that won't fit @T6180 . But thank you for the offer. Found front and rear roof light units on ebay from a 5 Series. Made a purchase for under 15 quid. So will see how this pans out @fezza68 and let you know.

Passat w8 mate, you need to buy a separate loom but it's easy to fit, takes about 30 minutes

Parts arrived off eBay. Less than 14 quid. These are from 2004 5 series (E60).

Plastic lugs mean they come apart easily. This is what I was after.

Two orangeeeeish LEDs in recessed surrounds, wired onto the circuit board in series, complete with a resistor. Tested and working fine. Think I'll cut the circuit board, so I can space them a little further apart, in the Shuttle overhead light assembly. Got a weeks leave coming up, so will add this to the list of Panadonkia projects and dig out the soldering iron.

Nice lateral thinking Was the price decent? If so there should be plenty about, my E92 had the same ones and presumably the 7 series and X models
