Good evening all hope you are well.
Apologies for creating “yet another” pulling to the left thread however just after some information hopefully.
We recently purchased our van maybe circa a month ago.
Steering wheel was always slightly to the right and not centred however it seemed to drive reasonably straight when letting go of the wheel.
There was also some uneven wear on the front drivers side outer.
As far as I am aware the suspension is standard.
Anyways long story short, it was running by Continental Van Connect 215/60/R17 on Davonport alloys which I thought were horrible tyres.(zero grip very hard)
So changed this out for (same size) Michelin Agilis.
Since then it MASSIVELY pulls to the left to the point I can’t let go of the wheel at all.
Justtyres (bless him) tracked it about 5 times and couldn’t stop it.
Had it at Kwik Fit on the Hunters machine today, thought they had cracked it but it’s probably even worse now. To the point I’m unsure about driving it till sorted as don’t want to ruin approx £1000s worth of tyres (we chose “a” “no load option”.
The hunters machine showed LOADS of options to choose from and they were unsure which it should actually be.
So a few questions if you would be kind enough.
1) Does anyone know what setting should be used on the Hunter machine for alignment.
1.1) On the tech spec sheet provided by @Pauly the “shock absorption/ suspension settings=B1H - is this the correct code to be referenced for the hunters machine?
2) Has anyone else had a similar issue with changing tyres of same size then instantly having pulling issues? Appreciate they have vastly different tread.
Van Spec:
2017 Transporter T6 T32 4motion 204ps 7spd DSG
Equipment: Basically just front seats+mid 3 seats
Wheels: 17” Davenport’s
Tyre Size: 215/60/R17
Due to the nearside front tyre scrubbing+steering wheel being angled to the right I’m half wondering if someone has bodged the alignment to force it to stop pulling to the side. (Unlikely but just find it odd)
Attachment is from hunters machine today.
Thanks all
