Any painters and decorators - advice

After a wee bit of advice if any painters on here.

What's the best type of emulsion to use which can be wiped clean? I've heard about Dulux diamond. Prefer to have real experience rather than marketing jargon. I would rather have a flat finish (no shine) if possible

thanks

im no painter & decorator . .

but after using most of the local Trade paint`s ie - Wicks Trade, B&Q Trade ranges etc on our own house over the last 12yrs.

and moaning that they didn't cover well and always needed second or third coats.

The local neighbor (a decorator) bought me a 10l can of the Diamond Matt Emulsion over and said "try that".

I've not bothered using anything else since.

yes it is expensive, but you seem to get what you pay for.... . .

covers well, normally with one coat and you can wash/wipe it over with out the paint washing off.

we use it on all the ceilings and covings in the house.

so +1 for dulux dianmond matt emulsion from me.

FYI its cheaper if you setup a trade account with the Duluxe trade centers.

Crown Clean Extreme is what we use at work to cover communal areas. I was so impressed at how you could wipe off push bike tyre scuffs that I had my house done with it.

The downside with both these products I believe is that you can’t touch up if you get a scrape.

perfect, great info thanks @Dellmassive & @Insert Coin

i notice there's a vinyl matt also, any idea on the difference from normal matt?

vinyl matt in the dulux range is normal paint. (ie might wash off is you scrubbed it clean)

where as the diamond matt is the tough, hard, scrubable paint.

dont know about Crown paint, not used it - @Insert Coin is you man for that one.

I use the Trade diamond matt at home and have done for years.
As said before 1 coat is usually enough if going over another white. Just as important tho is using good quality rollers ( Hamilton or Purdy are great)
It can be very thick so sometimes I add a little water to ease it out.
