Cool. Not sure how you managed that, I carried 400kg in the test drive I did and manged 160 miles. Weight doesn't effect EV range despite the Internet police saying otherwise. The sport will do 80mph and the msrt will do 100mph.
OK, weight within reason. EV arnt effect by weight as much as you think. If weight has no affect, why don't EV 44 tonne trucks have the same drivetrain as an EV car?
That would depend on the motor gearing and aero of each car. Taycan for example hits its sweet spot in 2nd gear at around 60mph so a good at high speeds. Is there a speed sweet spot?
I always drive mine on eco+ mode which shuts off most ancillary facilities, and limits it to 56mph. I seem to get around 140 miles on a full charge, 42kw battery, 38ish useable
Nonsense, “ye canna change the laws o’physics Cap’n”Not sure how you managed that, I carried 400kg in the test drive I did and manged 160 miles. Weight doesn't effect EV range despite the Internet police saying otherwise. The sport will do 80mph and the msrt will do 100mph.
I meant sweet spot as in, best speed to achieve maximum range, in an EVThat would depend on the motor gearing and aero of each car. Taycan for example hits its sweet spot in 2nd gear at around 60mph so a good at high speeds.
Most EV range tests that competitors do in EV range rallys are below 30mph.
I don't own an ev yet so not experienced enough to know first hand.
It must be a real joy, no air conditioning and only the letters SCANIA in your rear view mirror. Is there a speed sweet spot?

It's easier to draft a wagon if you're behind it.It must be a real joy, no air conditioning and only the letters SCANIA in your rear view mirror.
But you've still got to be able to keep up with it!It's easier to draft a wagon if you're behind it.
Ah, but you will. If you've ever pedaled a bike at over 30mph on the flat you'll notice the massive difference drafting makes. There's one particular 2 mile Strava segment where I can average 32mph with a heart rate of 180ish. I did that segment one day drafting a Fast Track with a beaver tail trailer, average 34mph with a heart rate in the 120's.But you've still got to be able to keep up with it!
Have wagons had their 56mph limiters removed now?But you've still got to be able to keep up with it!
No, I think they still limit them to 56 but obviously downhill they can still exceed that, which is why you often see their brake lights come on, especially if they're well loaded.Have wagons had their 56mph limiters removed now?
I'm limited by single track roads in beautifully distracting countryside.I'm not willing to voluntarily limit myself to 56MPH in my car or van and I don't see many people doing so.
That’s my MO. As soon as we hit a motorway, I pick a foreign lorry (they aren’t restricted) set the ACC to 60mph tuck in and sit back & relax. It makes a huge difference to my MPG & stress level. It's easier to draft a wagon if you're behind it.
I do similar, but simp,y because I cant be arsed. That’s my MO. As soon as we hit a motorway, I pick a foreign lorry (they aren’t restricted) set the ACC to 60mph tuck in and sit back & relax. It makes a huge difference to my MPG & stress level.
