@Niknak Is this video accurate? Haven’t had any dealings with these before, just wondering why replacement isn’t planned maintenance as they seem to have a finite life and failure like it has some nasty consequences.
They can and do fail at all different mileages but tell tail is the auxiliary tensioner bouncing and shred or spit the belt and if really unlucky like my manager gets sucked into the cambelt and totals the engine, so basically again just cause the alternator turns it does not mean it’s good
But like the old style battery drop testers “ just going to see if you battery is no good, oh no wait it was ok actually until I just sorted it out with this drop tester”
For a quick check on the bluemotion clutch alternator you can reference the voltage reading on a USB charger plugged into the dash cig’ lighter type socket.
When using the accelerator the voltage will be around 13v.
On the overrun when not using the accelerator the voltage will be around 14.5v.
