Banded Steels Question

Couldnt resist a sneaky pic of air and 19" on a blackberry

Got to be one of the most suitable wheel styles for me. They look the nuts and although it's a well used look, they can also look a little different if you've never seen this done, but most importantly they will take all of 5 minutes to clean, against 30 minutes per wheel at the moment.

@Tourershine any news on these 19" banded steels

The chap texted me today and said he'd gone to collect them from the powdercoaters and they'd made a right mess of them. He thinks it's a combination of the harsh blasting process, and the fact I had them Gloss Black, which obviously shows up every imperfection.
Thankfully he sent 2 sets, and he's made up a perfect set of 4 from the 8, but i've had him change them to Silver after he commented on how they didn't look very good in Black. So hopefully I should still have them for the B14 project, but just got to wait

Silver.
I don't have a huge love for Silver wheels, simply because they are a little 'normal' for me, but the images i've seen of these 19s in Silver look quite nice.
I guess once I have the wheels, changing the colour is the easy bit.

Yeah once you have the wheels you can try diffrent colours as you will still have your 20" to fall back on while your changing the colour

The guy with the wheels just cannot get them with a finish he's happy with. I'm not sure what's gone wrong, but he's saying none of the 8 are to a sellable standard, and he knows I won't be happy with the finish.

Back to the effin drawing board, unless you know of any others that are finished and for sale @andythom188?

Cant you take them as they are at a discounted price and get them blasted and powder coated.

He did offer them £200 less as they are, but the pictures he sent look like a lot of work to get right. I don't know if they've been sitting round in bare metal, or the quality of the built wasn't very good, but they've been blasted and powder coated twice and still look badly pitted.
The seller was a really genuine guy and would sooner loose the sale and money than let them go in the state they were in.
I'd got brand new centre caps and the correct spigots from Tamar too.

I might bite the bullet and send mine to banded steels essex its £600 for the work but will know they have been done properly then just got to get the blasted and powder coated locally

I'm properly hacked off.
I feel like getting Bognor to ditch the B14s, and throw on a lifting kit, jack the thing right up, and monster truck the damn thing. At least I wouldn't have to keep swerving around potholes.

I wouldn't do that anyway, but you know what it's like. I should of just stuck with Bentleys! There's loads of them for sale.

I do indeed,I am going to rip out my rear headlining and re-do it because I am not happy with it

I also have a badgeless grille here if anyone wants one

My vanX glove box is worth about 20p because the lid keeps falling off from day one

and my windscreen is broke

Ah, speaking of windscreens. I had a call about mine today, and Autoglass will have them back in stock for the 20th of this month.
