Barn door camera location

Hi,

I’ve bought a reverse camera from Vagtec and the printed guide is impossible to follow!

Any idea where I should be mounting the camera? I’m not sure if it should be positioned centrally or to the far right of the door. I want to make sure that the parking guide lines are positioned correctly.

Any other tips and tricks appreciated!

To the far right m8. That's why there's another taken out of the camera so it can sit flush.

That’s the one. I’ve not fitted it yet but hopefully won’t be too much trouble based on what I’ve picked up from other threads. I’ll just need to find somewhere that can code it once wired up.

I’ve also bought a Wolfbox G900 to use as a live rear camera given that I have a panel van. I might install this camera on the rear spoiler to give a wider field of vision. On reflection, I probably could have gotten away with the G900 on its own!

Just wondering how you got on with the camera? I want to fit one to my T6.1

Not great so far. I’ve cut the hole and tried pushing the assembly into place but each time I do this, the camera pops out. It’s as though there’s not enough clearance either next to the lock barrel or the rear metal door panel. I’ve not yet cut a hole into the metal door panel to feed the cables through so this might solve it, but I ran out of time today.

Can you not use the grommet where the loom comes through for the registration lights? Just a thought rather than cut holes in the door?

The loom on the camera isn’t long enough for that but I could probably route the other side of the loom (originating from the dash) through that grommet and connect everything up in the plastic trim. That’s a good suggestion thanks
