My Victron 100Ah Superpack is 330L x 171W x 220H and only just fits sideways under the seat, I had to add spacers between the seat base and seat runners so that the terminals wouldn't touch any of the seat mechanisms underneath when moving the seats forwards and backwards and rotating.

My TN Power 100ah Lithium is 328 x 172 x 220mm with terminals. I have got it fitted under the passenger seat along with a 12 way fuse box and Renogy DC-DC unit. I used aluminium angle and steel angles from Wickes to build a box in the seat base. This was walled with 12mm Birch ply. All fits fine and the battery isn’t going anywhere as it’s enclosed by the RIB seat swivel. The battery is on its side with the terminals at the rear because the Renogy was too wide and the heatsink was close to the terminals.

In construction, there is rubber on the aluminium part now.

The strap doesn’t hold the battery in it’s there to make it easy to lift out. It’s held in by the swivel and rubber strips.
There is just enough space above the battery to get the heated seats wire up through the hole in the swivel.

There is a problem with fitting batteries under seats. Unless they are of the sealed variety, you will need to take that very heavy seat out , Spring and Autumn. To check on the acid levels. I believed wrongly as the battery on my Ducato Moho was under the seat, it must be maintenance free. Dry cells, scuppers the thing, and had to replace at £118.00. The base plate weighed 25KG and the seat weighed 25KG, 1/2 an hour to take out, splitting the base and seat, same to replace. The bolts never matched up and had to use several screwdrivers in the bolt holes.
So on this my first project (bought Monday 8/3/21 ) have bought ( not brought ), the plate and will look for a better place than the seats. Just saying, that's all.

AGM and Lithium batteries are sealed units, no electrolyte replenishment required, in fact I'd be dubious of any converter who fitted a wet cell battery INSIDE a vehicle, I mean, imagine being splashed by battery acid in an accident!

Probably raise some eyebrows but I secured my TN100 Lithium with heavy duty cable ties. There are more holding the battery at the front and plenty of foam padding at the sides. It really does feel secure 20200422_140834.jpgand doesnt move at all.

love em all . . .

we have more seat base builds over here >

Hi I am looking for a battery fixing system. I see that CJL leisure have one on ebay for an under seat battery & split charge system tray for VW T5 T6 campervan conversion , but it is for a 110aH AGM type. I am looking for something similar to this but for a lithium battery that needs to be mounted on its side. Any ideas please ?
