Don’t buy the cheaper options. I had some issues with a THQ V2 headlight adapter loom (H&L beam together), caused all kinds of lighting issues. The THQ socket has corrosion but the mating VW plug was clean.
I suspect the tin plating of the terminals to be less than optimum.
One way to do a sample check is to leave a new terminal in a brine solution and see how long it lasts before corroding.
(Now removed and adapted with Carista Beta).

Currently fitting a dc-dc charger in my T6 which doesn't have any underseat relays/leisure battery.

Went to tap into the wire at pin 3 on the black bcm plug but there is no pin at that location...

Anyone know what sort of pin I need? Confusingly the bcm plugs seem to be made up of various size pins.

While it's the gold standard to connect to that pin it'll work fine just picking up an ignition live feed from the dash fusebox.

The difference the 20/30A makes on startup isn't going to be an issue in 98% of start cases.

Hi All

Hoping someone might be able to help. The connectors in the 17 pin multiway connector under my passenger seat that link to the rear ABS sensors are corroded and I get intermittent warning messages for ABS as result. Volkswagen only supply the wire tails with the crimps already in place . Its part numbers 000 979 022EA and 000 979 026EA I believe. However I don't want to use these as they are expensive and don't leave the wiring looking original. Does anyone know where I can buy the crimps themselves plus the crimp tool and the crimp extraction tool to suit. Thanks

Hi all,

Does anyone know the part number for the required bcm pin terminal to allow the install of the 12v+ engine run signal wire?

J519 BCM - T73a/3

And where would be the best place to get them from? Trying to avoid the VW repair wire route as they’re silly expensive usually.

Thanks in advance

Hi, can anyone tell me the pin used for black Bcm plug number 30
Thanks all
Ask @Pauly I guess he will tell you the part number of the repair wire which has two connectors and is used by cutting as required and splicing to your new wire. Much easier than purchasing connectors and crimping to your own wire.

I should have some somewhere but cannot easily lay my hands on them.

If you can show me a picture of the crimp or the hole in the bcm plug I can probably help
Even a pic of the entire connector so I can figure out which one pin 30 is or highlight the hole size on my pic of the white plug above

After originally thinking my van had the factory fit auxiliary battery option ticked, I’ve found I don’t have a 100A feed from SA3 but instead 50a from SA8.

So I intend to run an engine-run / ignition-live / D+ wire from T73a/3

I’ve got some crimps left over from the LED Headlamp retrofit and wonder if anyone can clarify if these are the correct size, them having TE, then an E and either a 6 or a 9 printed on them:

Based on the eBay links earlier on in this thread, I’m thinking they’re not, but as eBay images aren’t always representative of the actual product, I wanted to check here before ordering.

Hi guys,

I am trying to add a few pins to the black connector B on the bcm but not sure which pins to source exactly. I can see from the discussions there several options if anyone can help point me in the right direction that will be really helpful. I’d rather order pins and crimp my wires on.

Firstly I am trying to retro fit rear parking sensors. I have everything fitted and parking module. I now just need to wire to ignition live and earth.

Then I have For parking sensors I need to connect to:

Orange to pin 19

Brown to pin 18

On the black connector. I have noticed that pin 19 is already occupied. So do I splice into the one already connected ? I am unsure at this stage. Pin 18 looks vacant but i am not sure which pin connector I need to use. It’s on of the smaller pins in the middle. I have high lighted it in the image.

Secondly I have carried out the tailgate conversion. I have vcds system so managed to following the guide in this forum and code the van. However I wa having issues getting the handle to unlock the tailgate. The behaviour also seems to be that when the tailgate is open Ie the latch is open. When I press the central locking button to unlock the solenoid moves the actuator. Same behaviour when the latch is in the first position Ie door slightly opened. But when I fully close the tailgate it won’t unlock or activate the actuator. This however does seem right to me as this is when I should be using the tailgate handle button to unlock. Otherwise the tailgate would pop open every time I unlock the van.

For the bcm side I found this information on the forum :

For tailgate handle I need to connect to:

pin 23 ( earth the pin to open)

For tailgate lock I need to connect to:

Pin 10

Neither pins are connected to my bsm. So I’ve no idea how it’s sending the unlock voltage to latch in the tailgate. Unless I am using the pin that the barn doors used?

It was a while ago since I ran the loom to the bcm and carried out the work so I just wanted to see if anyone could confirm this is correct as unfortunately when I got access to the lock and handle inside the van. It seems I haven’t connected the external switch up . So I may have to try and do this and cause 2 wires all the way back to bcm if possible.

Does anyone know the connector type (blue) 2 wire plug that goes into the back of the tailgate handle for t6 ?

Any help would be appreciated from anyone who knows this job or has carried it out. Or has any suggestions for me at all.

Thank you
