Beach EHU charger fuse location

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I am also looking at replacing the AGM on my T6.1 Cali Beach with a LifePo4 but I cannot really find all the info I need, too many unanswered questions. To keep this thread on topic, I will ask just about the EHU charger.

It has been suggested to me that it should be changed. I understand that it is hidden behind some difficult to remove panels and so maybe a big job. @lydart you said you disabled your stock EHU charger and now use a Victron instead but did you just install a whole new EHU setup (so not using the external plug in the body work)?

Thanks a lot.
I decided not to remove any of the panels and disable the charger itself. I plugged the EHU into the mains and used a DC clamp meter to identify the cable from the charger that connects to the leisure battery. I then disconnected this cable, labelled and made it safe.
The EHU is unaffected and works as normal.
I now use a Victron Smart Charger if I want to charge from the EHU.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, but I don't quite understand how you installed a new victron smart charger and still use the stock plug on the outside of the van? Surely this plug is wired behind the panels to the hidden charger which you have now disconnected?

I'm an engineer, but electrical stuff was never my jam!

This thread may help -
Thanks for this. I have read through this (and it is very useful) but it applies to a T6 and not a T6.1 and also it does not cover the EHU problem.

I rarely need to use the Smart Charger but it's handy for charging either the leisure or starter batteries. It plugs into the internal 13a socket in the Beach.
