BM2 update

Excellent test @Dellmassive.
I yesterday went for profile 8 too. This is on my van with Renogy 170Ah lifepo4, whatever standard AGM starter battery came with my van snd 150W of solar.

I am just in the process of converting a LWB PV to become a "Victron demo van" (for marine demo gear), which has 400W of solar, Roamer 200Ah lifepo4 and whatever standard AGM starter battery came with my van.

Due to the amount of solar that I have on this, I am considering profile 1 or even 5 on the trickle charger, to keep the starter up to 12.8.
Access to all of the "gubbins" on this demonstrator will be easy-peasy (avoiding removing a seat every time I want an experiment) and I will let you know how I get on..

@Samro that sounds awesome..... I love the Victron kit. (Another Jono in the making? - YT reference)

.

It might be worth you having a word with Jonathan at Ablemail,

As I am to believe that with the BT adapter the charge profiles are fully configurable..... From the APP.

I've not done much testing, but all the peramiters are visable...... Might be worth a look for you.

Also if you have a DC-DC charger that has the auto VSR feature (most do) you won't want to raise the starter voltage too much or the DC-DC will kick in and start to charge the LB, you might end up with the DC-DC charger cycling on/off which in this case would be waist full.

The BT unit plugs into the green port. works with the Ablemail APP.

There is also a USB serial cable and PC software that can be used to configure the Ablemail chargers.

I can confirm that all the profiles are fully configurable via BT. Jonathan spoke about this when I was there. I was tempted to get the BT but decided it was a bit expensive as I would just use it once to set eh profiles and then never use it again.
I suppose we could get one and at one of the various meets, swap it between vans to program everyones lol.

If you ignore the dogs dinner if wires (although Jonathan's words were "It's beautiful" althought I'm not sure if he was saying that tongue in cheek) this is Jonathan using the PC cable and software in my van:

Fwiw....

Here is the BT adapter and screen shots of the app.

I'm not 100% sure how this relates to the FW profile.

It might me that you load a profile, then can tweak it with this?.... I'll have to check with Jonathan.

I'll show the PC option later.

@Samro , have you got the same?

Yes I do have this function but:

The gateway allows control and configuration of other kit on the network. This allows remote control of each networked component as though you are connected by BT. This is good as it gives the opportunity to show real time data with lots of nodes on the graphically displayed data as demonstrated in your post.

It is pretty annoying that if you set up a log (of say Starter Battery V and Leisure Voltage to graph at the same time) minimising the screen stops the log... Grr! (Also a shame that the data nodes are not reported to the VRM database, as that would be perfect and leave no gaps in the reported data!)

BTW I am finding that my AMT12-2 is behaving really nicely in profile 8, but it doesn't cut in until the starter voltage drops pretty low. It is fine at maintaining 12.3V, but I really wish is would cut in when the voltage is less than 12.4V and not around 12.2V, which is what I am getting.

It is fine and a great bit of kit and I suppose good that the voltage isn't too high which prevents problems with the DC-DC charging....... BUT Voltage is power.............. Who doesn't want more power? :D

long term starter battery Trickle Charging with the AMT12-2.

im posting some BM2/3 screen shots here, now, of standard voltage plots with out the AMT12-2 fitted.

ill then add in some shots of the after fitting the AMT12-2.

im always swapping kit in and out for testing . . . so ill post these now and update later:

7 & 15 day plots . . . .

my van will have issues starting after 16days - 3weeks of sitting about,
the starter battery setup is mostly standard with addition Anker 6port USB charger 24/7 perm connected, so draws a small amount of power when idle, this effects the total run time before the battery drops critical - below 11.99v / 12.00v

......................................................

WITH AMT12-2 (set to Profile #8 - with no external charge source, just Lifepo4 L battery which rests at 13.2v)
