The online systems aren't set up to deal with campervans. I'm afraid you need to ring round specialist insurers to try and get your quotes. Yes, it's ball-ache, but unfortunately necessary.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section....Wifie and I are in the process of buying a T6 Highline camper....so whom does y'all recommend for insurance? I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest, but rather the one with whom any claims have been least painful... Cheers Graeme

Yeh, lots of related discussion about the Transitporter.
The T7 is the Multivan family, very much made by VW in the old factory at Hanover.
The new Transporter is indeed transit based, but is not designated as a T7 by the manufacturer.
A niggling point, but a very important one when phoning around for insurance quotes as it won't end well if you inadvertently tell them you have a different type of vehicle and later end up having to make a claim...

Just had a chat / "Spat" with Just Kampers - seems they've no clue!
@Bully0046 - Maybe I'm being thicker than usual but can you expand on that please.
Been with comfort since we got the van. Premium around the same for last 3 years (around 400 in Birmingham postcode with no accidents or points) and when we had someone hit the van (no fault) they were great. Just make sure you declare all mods, which they seem ok with (except bizarrely, ceramic coating!). I asked if they would insure our new van when built and listed a bunch of things inc air suspension etc and they were fine with it all as long as declared.
