any recommendations for an extendable brush that can reach the roof without the need for a hop up etc, maybe even one that can attack other parts of the vehicle without damage. I am 6ft so can reach ish

slowly getting into the car cleaning regimes, previous trucks not worth spending too much time over

now got decent pressure wash set up including snow foam kit and about to trial pre-wash, not sure if this needs agitating, suspect on occasions it might although videos suggest not

so any recommendation on extendable quality soft mops and wheel cleaning brushes?

best pre-wash?

using Auto Glym Polar wash wax atm

Bilt hamber is good brand and use there stuff a lot I personally wouldn’t touch my van with any sort of brush hop up and soft mitt my method.

Also started using Sam’s detailing products there drying towel is immense and can do the van in one. I’ve had a lot of towels and this is best by far.

appreciate your thoughts, that is my current method so maybe I am doing it the best way?

Agree on the drying towel, grabbed on last year and bazar how much better it is than other micro fibres and shammy. some of their chemicals seem good also

Personally for me that’s is the best way.

Yes I agree there ceramic foam is brilliant easy to put thru the snow foam lance then rinse.
Also there’s ceramic boost in a bottle same stuff really
Then sheet with water and vans virtually dry

I have a work platform (big step) and I have also just bought what's basically a padded noodle mitt on the end of a broom handle.
It is for the roof only and uses the same 2-bucket process as the wash mitt. My roof is vinyl wrapped matt black and if the mitt does cause any issues (which is won't) it will be about due for a replacement wrap anyway.

Or the same effect for as little as a fiver in Tesco, and requires less of the product be applied for the same results.

Requires slight effort - wiping off - but for the price and performance...

I've done it all over the years. Various snow foams, two bucket, special waxes that require melting in the hand and applying with the palm, all of it. I've discovered over time that 98% of the results can be achieved for a third the price and a fifth the effort with stuff like this. With modern 'easy' products being so good investing the vast effort and extra expense chasing that final 2% just isn't worth it, especially for a vehicle in regular use that lives outside. It doesn't seem to be stopping me collecting a brace of concours trophies each year with the Volvo.

As for the original question, try this...

A few of us use these for our vans. Microfiber so it suspends more particles away from the paint and can be chucked in the washing machine afterwards.

Thats the kind of thing thanks, cheap so worth a go

I've got an 'extendable mop' very similar to the one mentioned by @Sasquatch which I bought for doing the roof only. That said, I can't actually say that I'd recommend it as it's not been used yet - IIRC I bought it 4 months ago but haven't actually got around to washing either my car or van since then. Both of them are so filthy that I'll be forced to do something soon though.
It's this one but mine was £17 when I bought it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B3DN41HB?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

Are you using the xxl drying towel? I have a few of other brands which are okay but not great but if I can get away with using just one that would be ideal.

No just the standard one think there £16 online I have 2 one for car and van as generally wash them together.
The big one looks way too big to handle and wouldn’t want it dragging along the floor catching debris.
Honestly it’s worth it!

Thanks for this, I'm not bothering drying the van at the moment as the paint is flat and due to go into a local bodyshop in 2 weeks time, but I hope to get it machine polished before it goes in, do you know how hard the paint is on a T5 I'm a total novice with a DA polisher only used it last year, thinking I might need to go for a heavy grade compound first then work my way to a finer grade
