Hi.
I know that ours is a T5 face-lift model but I'm looking for engine help and I think there's a crossover.
Also I can't get onto T5 forums for help.
Does anyone know of a reliable VAG specialist garage which can do commercial VWs near Banbury?
We had the Caravelle for a couple of weeks and used it for a few short 10 mile journeys but mostly did weekend 50 mile ish tourism or left it parked up. On a run the DPF filter light came on so I headed off to the M40 and did the DPF regeneration process.
Later on that week, the red Oil Pressure warning SWITCH ENGINE Off came on.
The dealership is in Nottingham so agreed to pay for a local garage to look at it.
They found a litre too much of oil in the system.
They speculated that the automatic DPF process wasn't working and that the extra fuel was going into the sump rather than burning through the soot in the filter.
They did an oil and filter change and we drove 100 miles before it all happened again -
DPF light, warning, oil pressure warning and high oil level.
I've taken it back to the dealer, the DPF light was on for an hour on the motorway despite me following the procedure, and they've taken it to the garage they use. I spoke to the mechanic who said that no DPF errors in filter or sensors were found, but that one reason DPF regeneration won't complete is that the fuel tank must be 25% full.
Has anyone had this issue?
It looks like I'll have to bring the bus back and test it again but the oil thinning is worrying.
I don't want to spend £500 unmapping the filter.
Is a manual DPF flush invasive? Do you have to remove the filter or is that usually part of the service? Does this damage the filter?
Any help gratefully received, you may save my marriage.
