So thanks to @Dellmassive, @Drive Wayne and @TallPaul_S who have been a great help and downright dangerous to my bank account I’m now thinking about buying a Cerbo GX and 50 screen.
I hadn’t planned on doing this but after buying victron everything and buying a top system I’m now thinking I’ve gone this far……..
So I’m looking for the best price for these as some places are selling the Cerbo and screen for £450+
I’ve found this and am not sure if it’s the Mk1 or Mk2?
Does anyone know which model this is and do you know anywhere cheaper?
I’ve also found the 50 screen on Amazon for a good price and doubt if anyone knows anywhere cheaper?
I will get these ordered and will post a thread up once I start my massive upgrade. As I will need more help from the wizards on here.
It will also be a good thread for anyone else thinking of upgrading from lead acid to lithium and upgrading from a small flexi solar panel to a huge rigid panel on a pop top.
I will also have a brand new victron smart shunt that will be up for sale

I paid £160 for the touch 50 and £190 for the Cerbo GX, so that's a decent price.

MK2 I think should be what you get now, but there's not a huge amount of difference. Don't forget the VE Direct cables to connect the Orion and MPPT to the Cerbo.

Oh and your listing is for the Cerbo-S which has fewer ve direct ports and no dedicated temp sensor ports, plus some others missing. But I doubt think it'll affect anything you'll be doing. There is no MK2 for the Cerbo-S as it's newer.

Thanks Paul.
So I don’t want an S then??
Also got a link to the cable?
Wayne said something about another cable for the Roamer battery too ?
This is going to be expensive

I think an S would be fine, just be aware you can't use wired temp or tank sensors.

Ve direct cable (there's different lengths and right angle versions) - Amazon.co.uk

Roamer CAN cable - Roamer CAN cable - SMART4 to Victron GX

And yeah, be warned the Cerbo GX is just the gateway drug... Before long you'll be several ruuvi tags, a 4g router, GPS sensor and tank level sensors in...

But, the data. Oh, the data...

Do you think I could remove the shunt from my set up and fit the Cerbo on the panel there instead?
This panel will be fitted next to the roamer battery under my microwave where my existing LB is.
I could then take the cable from the Cerbo up the back to the control panel above my work top

It might be a bit tight, but tbh the Cerbo can go anywhere, it doesn't need to be a part of the main wiring area. Hopefully this gives a size indication.

I just really like the screen and the information it has. Do I need it, NO!. Do I now want it, YES!
The screen is so handy when you just need to check charge status or solar power or something and even though my phone and the VRM app is literally 4 taps away, it's nice to have a screen in the van.

Of course without VRM (and the Cerbo GX) you'd need to connect via Bluetooth via the app, only within a few metres... Which is just not as easy!!

Expect a PM at some point asking for a list of what I need :think smile bounce:

Is that the 50 screen Paul?

Yep, perfect size for me. The 70 is bigger but not needed really. I power it from a standard usb port fyi, only the hdmi needs to plug into the Cerbo.
Think I will need your help when it arrives.
Most of the new equipment will be mounted on that board that will live beside the LB.
The victron MPPT is going where the existing solar controller is in the rear cupboard beside the Sargent.
But it’s easy to run cables from here to the LB.
I’m retaining the Sargent for the fuses for the whole 12v system but I will disable the charger on it and fit the victron one I’ve bought.
The victron charger will be hard wired and I will just need to plug the cable from it into a socket to charge the LB when on EHU.
I’m also hard wiring the EcoFlow 800w charger in there to quick charge my Delta 2.
The 2 cables from these will be clipped up and easy accessed from the main cupboard below my sink.
I’m installing a sub and amp under my drivers seat too as well as my reverse camera.
I can’t wait to get it all fitted.
A banging off grid set up with the 360w victron solar panel. :geek: :waving:
