Every year for 18 years when we do the traditional cracker jokes routine, I say the same joke. 'What has one wheel and flys'. Answer, A wheelbarrow full of sh1t. Last year while walking the dog through Sutton Park in July, the wife says, 'I get it! The joke about the wheelbarrow, I get it!!' 17 years it took her!

My wife is made of the same stuff.
27 years since my daughter was born and last year she realised kanga and roo from winnie the pooh were kangaroos.

It took me a short while to work that one out, but then I'm 3 parts cut ATM. :) HIc!
 
Actually, it works spoken & written - 'flies' is the plural of a fly (the insect) and the 3rd person present tense of the verb to fly. :uh run:
It works well in Trivial Pursuit too.. Pub quiz, not so sure!

Let me explain.... the 2 words are homonyms, which means they are homophones (they have the same pronunciation) and homographs (they have the same spelling). If that's as clear as mud, then my work here is done and it's time for another drink.
