Hi, I’ve just joined the forum as I’ve got a problem and I need help. I spent the day fitting a ply floor and matchboard cladding the barn doors and ceiling of my T6. I’ve been driving 1” screws into the floor through a sheet of 12mm ply on top of 9 mm squishy insulation and tried to only put screws into the raised parts of the floor. I used 12mm battens along the ceiling struts clad with 10mm matchboard also fixed with 1” screws. After spending all day doing this I’ve gone to drive home only to find the van has the glow plug warning light on and the engine warning light on and the engine cuts out when try and gear up to 2nd or 3rd. It then tells me to start engine manually and has a hard time starting up as if the battery is dead. Have I screwed into something important ? I have no mechanical knowledge at all. I can’t see why firing short screws into the rear of the van would interfere with something in the engine but that’s what seems to have happened. Unless the battery is nearly dead and that’s just making the van confused? Any help would be massively appreciated! Thanks for reading
