High-temperature circuit

The pump for the exhaust gas recirculation cooler V400 (15) is activated after the ignition is switched on with a delivery rates of 70% by a PWM signal from the engine control unit. It runs permanently across all operating ranges. Activation is increased to 100% delivery rates if there is a higher EGR cooling requirement.

The liquid-cooled charge air cooling makes it possible for the air temperature in the intake manifold to be controlled at a nominal value according to requirements. The charge air temperature is controlled by the engine control unit activating the charge air cooling pump V188 (12).

The guidance parameter for activation is the intake manifold temperature after the charge air cooler. The coolant circuit for charge air cooling is connected to the engine cooling circuit via a non-return valve and a throttle for filling and venting. There is no connection to the engine cooling circuit during operation. The injector for reducing agent N474 (9) is integrated in the low-temperature cooling circuit.

In order to flush out possible air bubbles after filling, a bleeder process must be carried out with the tester. This involves activating the electric coolant pumps in various combinations. Activation is first without the engine running, and then at specified engine speeds.

.

so we need to look at - intake manifold temperature after the charge air cooler

can you post VCDS scan data for:?

G811 - Charge air temperature sender after charge air cooler ---> input to j623 engine ecm

more info on clamp meters and power draw:

Heres mine from just now.

(remember you need to flick the catches so the van sees all the doors and bonnet etc closed for the van to go sleep properly.

add, current draws:

IGN ON - engine OFF, ------- 8.33A
IGN OFF - van unlocked. ----- 0.06A
IGN OFF - VAN locked. (after 30sec) ------- 0.007A
IGN OFF - VAN locked (after 15mins)(sleeping) ------- 0.029A

Add pics is you can.

I’m new to VCDS to be honest if it hasn’t got a carb and points then I’m a bit confused!!!
I’ve got the charge air temp sensor but no specific input to j623 ? Is there a way to it ? 42A6C853-5D25-4F71-8B00-A9AA3F6F6C0C.jpeg

looks like i have on the 01 Engine ECM.

IDE07800 - heater supp. pump. charge air cooler - active 10% PWM

and

IDE11870 - heater supp. pump exh. gas recir cool, circ. - active 100%

im thinking these are the two pumps

1678626742510.png

in 01 engine there is output tests.

IDE00879 - EGR cooler pump

that you can test.

i set the command time to 5sec, - you could then hear the pump cycling on/off/on/off every 5sec.

1678627003715.png

there is switchable water pump too. . .

IDE05036 - switchable water pump

but im not sure thats the same pump?

1678627144886.png

i also noticed on the LONG CODING for 01 Engine. . .

1678627226014.png

that byte 4 details electric water pumps installed - again not sure if that relates to these pumps or not?

the pumps on mine started up as soon as the IGN key was in.. .

then after sutting down the engine. . . they were still running. . .

it was only after REMOVING the key and waiting about 60sec that they went silent.

.

so . . . KEY had to be removed

......................

can we check your key barrel as well that its detecting the key being removed.

Ok on it

I know that if I have my battery disconnected, after reconnecting the pumps are off until I open the door then they go on without the key in

doing a @mmi style look at a log file. . .

we can see the EGR pump running 100% from KIEOF (Key in engine off)

to KIEON,

the pump is 100%

on a cold engine
