When we were in the same position, I was given some good advice by a chap into the whole "Dub scene":-

Visit as many converters as you can. (There is some absolute sh1te when you start to look closely)
Take your time
Visit Busfest

We did exactly that, it took 2 years from actually deciding to go down the camper route to taking delivery of the finished article. We nearly signed up with a well known high end converter until we visited Busfest & saw examples of their work in the flesh & we walked away. At the same Busfest we discovered Dirty Weekender, who we hadn't come across during our research, 4 months later we signed up with DW & haven't looked back.

Ditto! Sounds exactly like our story...... :)

Busfest is a must do visit to sort the wood from the trees.

We used Three Bridge, worth every penny. Well worth visiting, the guys do more than the curved design so don’t let that put you off. Ours is curved and we love it, the quality of the build is excellent and far exceeds anything else we looked at.

Hi
I have my T6 on order which is due is September, there are lots of conversion companies around, I’m looking at getting a really nice conversion with good quality tires and fittings, not run of the mill.
Can any one recommend some of the best companies you may have used.
Jon
Have a look at Status One site they have good reviews and chat with a guy who just had his new van converted.

Jerba Campervans are worth a look, we have a LWB Cromarty conversion. The quality of their work and customer focus is fantastic.

Hi I’m looking to convert my 2018 t6 panel van to a Vw spec kombi is this possible and is there any places in or near Birmingham that do this? Thanks

Do you intend on putting the factory side glass in the sliding door, and what colour is it?

Hi yes I plan on putting the glass in both sides and it’s silver

Thanks.
The reason for my asking is I was thinking of going the other way, going Kombi to Panel van, but only externally. It's irrelevant anyway, because you're a different colour. Thanks anyway.

Speak to Colin at Oxford T5. @VWVC he's the only person I’d have to do it.

We can do this, but I suspect far too far away. We can do as a drive in drive out service by the end of the day and fully certificated.
Hope you get it sorted.

Anyone recommend any decent companies in Birmingham and surrounding areas?

Would love to use new wave in wales but they stacked out till next year and too much hassle with the travel.

Probably looking at day van style conversion.

Anyone had experience with “new ultimate transporters”?

Take a look at Dirty Weekenders in Worcester. Johnny and Katie will find out what you really want to use the van for and guide you to a bespoke build to meet your needs. Lots of examples on their website: Dirty Weekender - Adventure Vans

Most decent converters will have a waiting list of projects.

I was going to suggest Dirty Weekenders as well, there work looks fantastic, especially if you’re after something a little bit different to the norm.
I was going to use them myself but ended up buying a van that was already converted.

These guys Spektrum Interiors they built our bespoke units and were good to deal with.
our units were hand built as the usual evo units wouldnt work with our bed/roof System, plus most van converters use these evo units, so lots of carbon copy vans interiors about.
