Agree with all of the above. Buying and converting yourself is definitely the best way to do it. Better value for money and you can choose exactly what you want.

Hi. I'm looking to convert my panel van to a Kombi, seating, rubber floor, carpet lining etc. I am looking for a company to do it. I am based in Southampton.
In regards to seating what am I looking at price wise and in terms of safety of the seats being installed?
I've found some places that are "VW recommended." Obviously safety is paramount as I will have kids in the back. Is this something I should be looking for or are converters reliable in this regard.
Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated. First time doing this so I want to get it right.

If you are based in Southampton look no further than @BognorMotors - they did my windows and rear seats, best decision I made for peace of mind and getting my conversion to a Kombi off on the right foot, they are not that far from you in reality. They will give you a letter for insurance purposes showing it has been professionally converted. They might be able to help you source the rear mats seat belts etc or keep an eye out on the forum for anyone selling an interior - give them a call and talk through what you want and how much you might want to do yourself.

I already have a T6.1 Kombi with a degree of upgrades, sound proofing, carpet lined etc. However I am now seriously considering a full conversion and doing away with an air awning etc. Is there anyone out there who can give a personal recommendation for the work to be done (Stourbridge, Dudley, Worcester) area ?
