Can anyone suggest/recommend a courier that will accept a car battery?

Im trying to return a battery to Fogstar (nothing wrong with said battery, just changed my power route) and they said they can have it collected by their courier for £40. Just wondered if I can get it cheaper than that?

lithium batterys are supposed to sent via special approved couriers that have been aproved for purpose and the battery should have the shipping ducuments on the outside of the box detailing the hazard.

and they are normally more expensive than a standard box of the same size and weight.

there are a few couriers listed:

...

other options:

keep the battery and use it for something else, battery box? solar?

sell the battery onwards, T6F? ebay etc?

take it back to fogstar your self.

though last time i done a similar thing, the diesel cost alone would have been more than the quoted return shipping quote.

.

Yeah I still have it in its packaging so the out box has all the warnings etc.

Thank you for that list, I'll have a look now

I would take up their offer. Dangerous Goods shipping is specialised, so I would let them worry about it. You might get it cheaper, but not much.

Done 30 mins research and trying to obtain quotes and yes, its a nightmare. Looks like £40 it is then

If its still BNIB, why don't you sell it on here for £30 less than you paid, you'd be up by a tenner and someone would save 30 quid?

I used UPS recently when selling my EcoFlow, had to declare it had lithium battery inside but assume that was allowed because it was inside some electronics.
