Damn Steering Wheel

There seems to be a wealth of knowledge here.. no suprises!

@Deaky, @andys Do you have any tips for getting the wheel off? I have a startline plastic wheel and want to put on a mfsw.. vagnostics have detailed the price to send me all the things (i'd prob get a wheel from them as im not sure what i ned to get them from ebay - plus i cant find airbags, you guys all seem to be swapping a highline for a flat bottom golf one so you can keep the airbags it seems?).
I think its a case of: battery -ve removed, wait 15mins. Turning the wheel 90, unclipping from the back, then 180 turn and doing the same. Remove airbag and unclip. Then undo the wheel and remove. But then im a bit lost - i need to install the retro fit loom between the slip ring and the BCM - but in which pins?

i can then code it all with obdeleven (in the post normally...)?

thanks in advance!

What has vannostic priced up for you and how much does it come to? Matt isn’t returning my emails or phone calls regarding the same thing and my van is booked into garage Wednesday!

well it was a while ago when i asked but it was for delivery of a vw mfsw with loom to switzerland..

depends on the wheel really the price - looking at 500 i reckon.

thats strange regarding the not returning calls or emails (having said that im waiting for him to confirm on this purchase..)

I found you’ll get hold of Matt quickest through Facebook Messenger.

Is £500 including purchase of steering wheel? What was quite for the MFSW loom as that’s all I need apparently

vagnostics
Although I’ve just gone through my old messages and see that the profile he was using has been deactivated.

As Scotia said, the company name is Vagnostics and his name is Matt Vessey

The £22 is for the wires to connect the slip ring back into the dash
In addition to this you require the airbag loom (also known as the mfsw loom)
If you have a look at this thread you will see the airbag loom at the top, the airbag loom incorporates the wires that connect to the mfsw buttons you are trying to add

there are a couple different types of airbag loom depending on setup and price is around £30-50 depending on which one

exactly @Pauly thanks.. thats cleared up alot for me too.. i thought as much but wasnt 100% sure.

if i could find a wheel and all the looms and the airbag for less than i can get on vagnostics then i'd snap it up.. but there are many varieties.. (i have a euro 6 T6, adblue, no mfsw but cruise on the left stalk..)

@Ads_Essex - strange - i just got a reply saying they are too busy at the moment..

That must be to a new Facebook profile, as my messages just show the blue silhouette.

Not me, sorry, I've never taken a wheel off, mine came as standard

could someone help me just with regards to a steering wheel? Im not sure if vagnostics is going to come through, and if he doesnt i dont have a backup plan... i have found a ton of vw t6 wheels with the buttons i think i need but im not sure. Also there is no airbag or anything whatsoever..so i'd need to source that too!

i'd get the wheel from germany sent to me here in switzerland.. and i'd get the other bits sent to me from whereever.. its just i cant find them! All i find are ones with acc etc..

and reading the google reviews doesnt give me much hope!

@Pauly would you be able to help me out with the cables i'd need? i've said it before but i have a euro 6 T6 with no mfsw...but cruise on the left stalk. (i have adblue so deffo euro6)

It’s just a case of hunting around to find a decent wheel that fits your needs at the right price
Some people want flat bottom others flappy paddles so you just need to keeping looking until you find what you are after
Just remember only T6 buttons/loom will work in a T6 most people already have mfsw so they buy the style wheel they want and swap their buttons/wiring into it, as you have nothing then buying a wheel from a different model will be no good as the buttons won’t work
If you get stuck on wiring I can help out with the airbag loom and/or the two additional cables into the dash

Hello @Pauly i just got news back from the ebay shop (from the link i sent you) and he said all should fit fine. Could you pm me a price for the retrofit loom and sending to my swiss address? I can give you it again if you wish. Thanks

Let me know also with regards to the leds! - might be a big package but..!
