DE CH A etc summer trip

We are planning a 3 week trip this summer to Germany, Switzerland and Austria (at least). Fancy seeing some mountain pass etc and tbh I’d really like to get down to the coast somewhere. The wife wants to stay at least 2 nights at most stops so working out route, sites etc along the way. More to come. Any advice gratefully received.

It’s going to be mid July to early August so high season but hopefully we can get away from the crowds!

What route are you taking from the island to the mainland?!! Your starting point in mainland Europe is a consideration as the route could be FR, CH, A and DE

Probably the tunnel

Ok, not much progress yet but we have now booked the crossing. So looking to book the first stop somewhere on the way southeast from the tunnel towards the south of Germany. Looks like we will have about 4 hours travel time in Europe in the first day.

Any suggestions for places to stop? We are looking for a one night stay just off a main road south in or heading towards Germany
