eBay Scammers

It should be the police dealing with this. The Police could set up a trap for these fraudulent scammers. What happens when you want to view the vehicle? Who in their right mind would pay deposit before seeing the vehicle ? I guess the scammers have very little success but one scam is one too many!
BUYER BEWARE…!

I have been scammed a few times despite considering myself not that dumb. Some scams are simple and sofisticated at the same time. Many times the seller is very nice on the phone. They are very manipulative and able to get a coin just to reserve one particular item many people want at the same time… to reserve it for yourself pay a dime… 50 quid, 100 quid.
You feel reassured on the phone, they send banks details, address. Why not to trust someone like that… and this is exactly how it happens.
They make a living out of this and none of us is prepared to sue them just for a few hundred squid lost. Over the last 15 Years I have lost 500/600 quid with scammers… and learnt what commercial website to avoid and what commercial traders to trust more. At the same time There are plenty of genuine people around trying to sell their items below market value. For many reasons.

Likewise @Crazymind I've found the issue is more in the everyday lower priced stuff that when it turns up is either not as described or in much worse condition. Your guard is up on high value items but if someone is doing this regularly then a large number of lower priced items that it's not worth making a fuss over and most people chalk up to experience and move on still "earns" them enough.

Very nice to trust people but in the world of online dodgy adverts I never trust anyone until I’ve seen the physical items and taken pics of the items with the seller present. Yes scammers are usually smart and do out wit the uninitiated. They also work on the fact that the law has no teeth for petty individual crime. The huge worry is the global scale of scammers - it’s getting bigger everyday.

Too true. There's a youtuber called Mark McCann who has covered this recently. If none of you have seen it, it's a very good watch

How do I stop it :(

On phone to eBay again, literally shouting at them down phone expressing how unprofessional their selling platform is.

I'm even tempted to put my personalised plate on now, so when suspected buyers do try search it, it won't be available
