Great stuff. Thanks both!
I’ve moved mine from under the rear bumper (left side) to behind the panel below the left rear light after fitting a hinge to it. That way I was able to retain the existing cable routing without having to re-route everything. Undoubtedly the simplest approach is under the bonnet, or through the grill VW badge (if you have a standard grill), but that is not suitable for everyone.Hi my blue electric hook up plug is under rear bumper and looks crap has anyone any ideas where’s best to move it
You can get a proper cap to fit over the inlet plug to keep the crap out. We have one, no problems in 7 years. Couple of quid from your local electrical wholesaler. We have ours tucked up under the offside corner of the bumper , looks reasonably stealth which is the look I was after but crap in reality cuz it gets all the spray off the rear wheel .
Time for a rethink .
me and @Skyliner33 were looking at those last year at Camper jam . . . or was it Busfest? - either way, looked like a neat solution. but not cheap.Look here for options...
Not sure it's mentioned in that thread, but I chose this...

Thankfully, we never got to see an itemised cost - it was just bundled-in with the cost of the conversion.me and @Skyliner33 were looking at those last year at Camper jam . . . or was it Busfest? - either way, looked like a neat solution. but not cheap.
My manufacturers removable tow bar ball is regularly dragged through the land between ruts off road especially on dipping going. That is when entering and exiting depressions (bomb-holes) and occasionally on straighter sections with deep ruts. Also the rear of a vehicle is often very wet in any case due to the draft of low pressure that follows a vehicle.Iv just has my van converted and with to move the hook up connection. At moment it hangs below the sills mid side of van. This will cause probs with water when driving across country.
Iv looked at various ideas and best I see is next to Toe Bar. Their is already hook up for trailer lights. Would placing the plug on other side of toe bar from existing electric hook up for trailer be good place ?
Got one of those thanksYou can get a proper cap to fit over the inlet plug to keep the crap out. We have one, no problems in 7 years. Couple of quid from your local electrical wholesaler.
