Look here for options...

Not sure it's mentioned in that thread, but I chose this...

I’ve moved mine from under the rear bumper (left side) to behind the panel below the left rear light after fitting a hinge to it. That way I was able to retain the existing cable routing without having to re-route everything. Undoubtedly the simplest approach is under the bonnet, or through the grill VW badge (if you have a standard grill), but that is not suitable for everyone.

Rear Hinge Panel (below rear lights)

My cable comes through the firewall behind the glove box and sits next to the battery. The cable runs up beside the bonnet on the outside of the hinge and out next to the windscreen.

We have ours to the right of the tow bar, works fine , not worried about looks, can hardly see it, easy access, doesn’t get covered in mud either.

We have ours tucked up under the offside corner of the bumper , looks reasonably stealth which is the look I was after but crap in reality cuz it gets all the spray off the rear wheel .

Time for a rethink .

You can get a proper cap to fit over the inlet plug to keep the crap out. We have one, no problems in 7 years. Couple of quid from your local electrical wholesaler.

me and @Skyliner33 were looking at those last year at Camper jam . . . or was it Busfest? - either way, looked like a neat solution. but not cheap.
Thankfully, we never got to see an itemised cost - it was just bundled-in with the cost of the conversion. :)

We went this route because, when we'd previously hired a camper with the hook-up point under the rear bumper, we almost drove off with the EHU still attached. Luckily, as we set off, I glanced in the door mirror and noticed the EHU cable rapidly unravelling behind us!!!

With the hook-up point in the front badge, it's obviously a lot more difficult to miss a bright orange EHU cable as you climb into the drivers seat.

Iv just has my van converted and with to move the hook up connection. At moment it hangs below the sills mid side of van. This will cause probs with water when driving across country.
Iv looked at various ideas and best I see is next to Toe Bar. Their is already hook up for trailer lights. Would placing the plug on other side of toe bar from existing electric hook up for trailer be good place ?
My manufacturers removable tow bar ball is regularly dragged through the land between ruts off road especially on dipping going. That is when entering and exiting depressions (bomb-holes) and occasionally on straighter sections with deep ruts. Also the rear of a vehicle is often very wet in any case due to the draft of low pressure that follows a vehicle.

Perhaps consider a front grill type mount. :)

Got one of those thanks
It's when you turn up on a wet day the grovelling around on wet ground getting filthed up taking the cap off etc that I'm bored with.
Also ours faces downwards and on a lowered van if the front is up on levelling chocks it makes it real close to the floor at times .
