My feedback on Fabworx and the sliding bed in post #24 on this thread. and also post #24 on another thread

I think the electric one swaps out the gas-strut that pops the bed back up into seat mode for a an electric linear actuator.

On the regular one you can adjust the rake of the seat back to about 4 positions using the notches on a handle under the seat:

Does the electric one still have this notched handle under the seat? Maybe @Drive Wayne can confirm.

Thermal Insulation - you're not going to get any meaningful amount under the RS rails floor-pan. But the rails are raised up about 30mm so there's a gap there to put PIR / XPS insulation down underneath your floor finish - because you'll want to raise the floor level up to near the top of the rails. I wish I had raised my floor up more to make the rails seem more flush with the floor level.

Screwfix 5mm XPS foam boards:

In this one they've raised the floor almost flush... strangely on the passenger side it seems slightly higher?

First job for my day off tomorrow, find the notched handle. Thanks @meza for giving me hope!
 
Lift the silver handle up, then it slots into the different positions. Im guessing you can’t do this with the electric bed?
There's a big drawer in the way for starters and a hand tightening knob on the Right hand side. I will investigate further tomorrow...
 
I hope someone can clarify something about the insulation on the floor. I have been reading and following a lot "The Van Conversion Bible" (Low and Comley) so far. They suggest to insulate the floor and I see many people online following the same method of building a frame with thin battens and then filling the gaps with a thick insulation material of the kind of PIR insulation (e.g. Eurothane). Of course then you would put ply and a new floor/vinyl.


From my practical understanding, anything as such will not make the fitting of a RNR/RIB or other seat/bed anchored to the floor of the van as it would prevent from anchoring it firmly (or crashing the structure/foam) to the floor. One installer told me that such procedure is mainly for big vans and that small conversions (T6 size) would not normally have such thick insulation, also because it is better to insulate the walls and roof as hot air goes up and doing the floor would not bring a big difference.

Any opinions on the matter and suggestions on how to still insulate slightly?

You’ll be fine. Wood’s a good insulator anyway, once you've got your floor down.

As aforementioned, the sliding frame from Fabworx needs to bolt directly to the bare floor, then you build up on top of that. I’ve got 9mm ply round the edges, 5mm ply over the frame and 12mm laminate over that. Pretty much level with the top of the rails and not cold to the touch.

I can indeed categorically state that there is no way to adjust the rake on the electrically operated Fabworx RnR seat/bed. If someone was regularly travelling on it, it would be a problem, fortunately an issue that rarely crops up.
