Family holiday in the south

Hi there,
With the in-laws visiting around Easter, I'm on the lookout for the perfect campsite.
Ideally, I'd love a spot that offers glamping or lodges for the pensioners, along with a pitch for our T6 with an awning.

It would be fantastic if the campsite is near the beach and offers nice walking trails. Bonus points if there are activities for kids or an indoor pool with waterslides!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have!

Found this one:

The using the Eurotunnel so I would like to find something not more than a 4h drive away from Folkestone.

Edit: We have a dog as well.

This place is right on the beach, has various holiday home options and an indoor swimming pool...

EDIT: Sorry, I missed your last comment re <4 hrs from Folkestone.

We have stayed at Sandford and aslo

Rockley Park has a much better location, and although we had to pay for a caravan as Haven no longer offer touring pitches, I think we had better value for money. Our children and grandchildren felt the same.

Looks really good - thank you. We could meet them somewhere and have a bit of a longer break.

Thanks, I would like to take the kids in the T6, they love it.

We're trying this one in April - a bit further west.

Good reviews.

Sadly, furry friends are not allowed on the park or beach due to restrictions on the beach throughout the year

Ah, what a shame - I ddidn't mention it.
I´ll have a look at their sister site.

We've stayed here a couple of times. Good facilities and has an indoor and outdoor pool. The only downside is its a stone beach.
Booked today.

I think it's may a bit big but I'll report in April.

Thanks to all.

We are back :-)

Park was really good, surprisingly cheap restaurants and spar market on-site.
Clean facilities with several cleanings throughout the day.
Good sized, levelled pitches.
Park was not too full (school holiday). Small playground for the kids, plenty of walks for the dog.

If I had to challenge a thing it would be the location itself. It's a bit away from everything. Walking to a Pub is at least a 30min. "hike" along the SW coast path.
They are no pitches on the bottom field that gives you weather protection. The field is exposed to the sea/ wind.
If we go again we would book the top field.

We were there basically the same time by the looks of it - over the bank holiday weekend and I’d echo the above

No concerns going back - location is spot on and pitches / facilities are pretty decent. The only bit I thought looked tired was the downstairs entertainment area (kids disco etc) but everywhere else was fine.

Well fair play to them then  ,they've obviously done some 'work' recently , used to be horrendous there going back just a couple of years.

to be honest i think it's horses for courses i stayed there a few years ago and its a "marmite" site the location was our main reason but that got quickly lost with the fact the club house and entertainment attracted a more rowdy type of camper we're retired now and want sites that are not aimed at families having children and parents enjoying themselves as they deem acceptable if you want the same area and a very quite site try gaston farm or graston copse in annings lane this post was not a dig at anyone just my opinion

I get this ^ , but the site basically shouts family oriented from the website without even seeing it in person. the size of it, the closeness to the beach, the on site facilities - in and out door pools with large play areas built into them, parks, large football pitches and kick about areas, and some (really) cheesy evening kids entertainment. For families sites like this are ideal.

I do wonder why, in a position without kids or the need to have a lot of the facilities like this one does, people chose to stay there rather than somewhere that’s peaceful, spaced out pitches, and no noisy kids or rowdy families.

We have two kids, under 10, we’ve always loved camping so have done the above sites prior to becoming parents. I love them and they serve a purpose. Yea the kids run wild during the day, stay up past the normal home routine bedtime but this is camping and they are kids - it gives them a bit of freedom that we can’t give them at home - unable to run around the streets or play out in the roads, walk to there friends houses etc etc because of the times we live in.

For the holidays with the kids, having friends able to tag along and go as a group, making new friends on site, sites like freshwater whilst not exclusive or secluded peaceful and peaceful with no ball game policies in place etc etc, have their place and I’m happy to recommend to anyone looking for a family site in the area.

Absolutely,
regarding the "out of hour noise".
The site has security and shuts every party down 30sec after 10pm.

Nobody needs to be worried about his sleep.

What I have to mention is that the sides was maybe 30% booked - I don't know how busy it gets in the summer.

We used to live local and knew staff that worked there , it was mostly fighting and 'undesirables'that we used to hear about that's why I asked If Frigo would recommend it now.
But like I say they've obviously sorted all that now  .
Personally we're old gits without kids and avoid all family sites as much as poss especially in the season. 😬
