Proper conversions done by this company, would love one too but very pricey!Fantasy spec would be a silver T6.1 204ps 4 motion dsg with a virtual dash on silver Canteras with suspension sorted by CRS.
Inside it would have a Knights Custom Conversions Prestige Tourer Plus, but with a factory style electric pop top, front and rear rear climate control and the camper controls on a touch screen similar to a California Ocean. Not forgetting 300w of solar, a factory bike rack and removable tow bar.
Doesn't need to just be a dream:-If it’s pure fantasy, it’s got to be a big V8!
Yeah, been following that video series... just out of idle curiosity, you understand.Doesn't need to just be a dream:-

If I was going full Euromillions I would have a Porsche Turbo engine installed in the rear similar to a TH Automobile conversion.Fantasy spec would be a silver T6.1 204ps 4 motion dsg with a virtual dash on silver Canteras with suspension sorted by CRS.

You should propose that as a potential, future project for the guys on the YouTube channel "Not Just Campers". Would be a great series to follow. My Caravelle Exec 4Motion was quite reasonably specked, diff lock etc. It was a cancelled order that did not have Down Hill Ascent Control. However If it had permanent 4x4 that would have been better. It would have been better if the rear differential lock was a Torsen/Ferguson mechanical limited slip differential and that they had also fitted the same to the front axle while they where at it and also used something similar for the centre diff lock. That the latter would have attached to a 2 speed transfer box. The whole package would have been near perfect if the swing axles had transformed or morphed into portal equivalents. Perhaps the icing on the cake would have been if VW had have used some of the technical experts on this forum to have designed in an auxiliary electrical charging system fit for purpose. A diesel hot plate cooking pate with hot air heating. A snorkel! One can only dream.
I will have to discover that "Not Just Campers" Chanel it sounds very interesting! I have owned vehicles with Portal Axles, Mercedes UNIMOG 4x4 and Volvo 6x6 TGB, brilliant both, great capabilities. The one vehicle that always escaped me was the Pinzgauer, I always wanted the 6x6 solid bodied version. Unlike the other 2 it had independent swing portal axles. It was a forward control design similar to the others but took little more road space than a Landrover 110 but with acres more internal space. The UK armed forces use or used some of them. They where designed in Austria. I seem to recall that they used VW engines. The early ones were petrol but they evolved with diesels. they had no normal chassis, the gearboxes and so made up part of a spinal chassis instead. You should propose that as a potential, future project for the guys on the YouTube channel "Not Just Campers". Would be a great series to follow.
