fault code 16056

Jason, I currently have the exact same situation with my 2016 T32
Did you manage to resolve the issue? My garage have replaced the sensors, done an oil and filter change but then dropped the sump today and now, given a pressure gauge reading showing that it won't reach appropriate pressure are suggesting a need a recon...! Very concerned and would love to know if you have found your fix.

Hi
The garage did the sump and found strainer blocked but this did not solve it.
Then they replaced the sensor On the sump oil pump as it came from Germany.
this did not fix it!
so they decided to change the main pressure sensor on the engine( £20 part) and that fixed the fault!

so after spending £900 on it it turned out to be another oil sensor that was not showing the fault code!

maybe you could try replacing all 3 sensors if your engine is the same as mine the 204bhp automatic on a 66 plate and that may fix it?

I was getting low oil pressure fault code from the sump sensor until the main sensor was changed and then pressure was fine!

Good luck and I hope this helps as mine was a bit of @ 3 month pain in arse, it is all fixed now and I have fallen back in love with my VW!

I'd be very worried if my van had a blocked oil pick up strainer, what was blocking it?

I don't know they said it had debris blocking it and were convinced that clearing it had sorted the fault.

The strainer is there to collect particles so I guess it was doing its job.

Hi all, I've had the flashing coil light for over a year, it started with control flap stuck code on the intake manifold, i had a new actuator and it made little difference, I then got the low oil pressure code, replaced the sensor and again made no difference. My local mechanic checked for loose connection the obvious as the van was driving OK, just turn it off and the fault would be gone. I noticed I would get it more often the following day after it had a good run. Fault code was back to sticking flaps, I have since had a complete new genuine intake manifold which I believed to have resolved the problem, within a few weeks it was back. probably not the best option, but I had the intake manifold mapped out. Guess what a few weeks later I get the dreaded flashing coil light again but it’s reverted back to the the oil pressure sensor code? Not sure where to go next, my mechanics at a loss, van drives great when it’s not in limp mode. Also had an EGR cooler in the last year as I was loosing coolant, was hoping that it might have been a related problem but obviously not. spent a fortune and no one can seem to get to the bottom of it. Reviewed the forum and theres a few threads on the intake flaps getting stuck but no one seems to have an answer? Any advice/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. As this is my first post I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread or reply to billybonko's thread of 5th Sept, as it is so similar to my issue? I tried the latter but don't think it was visible to anyone? So apologies for repeating as a new post!

Firstly, I should say 'thank you' for all the useful info I have picked up here, a great resource.
I haven't really delved into diy vehicle maint since the days of vauxhall chevettes and cavaliers, so this T6 (CXGB engine) 2016 is quite daunting. I've not had many issues in the 6 years 35k miles but now, coincidentally(?) since a timing belt and oil change, I have a flashing glow plug when cold with Carista showing the errors 15560 and 16056. My local VW specialist say it is an EGR problem but looking on here, and as for billybonko's issue, some have fixed this by changing the Oil pressure sensor for low pressure. As all is good when warmed up, I thought I'd take a punt on the oil sensor. After several attempts and reference to the manual and extracts posted here, I have found it! I think I can get an open ended spanner on it from the angle in my photo but the tricky bit may be releasing the connector! I presume there is a tab on the right angle connector to release the locking hook? The manual drawings don't show that detail so I'm hoping someone can help with a picture or what to feel for?! I can only get 1 hand in, either from the right side or from the left over the top.
Failing that I'll have to bite the bullet and go to a main dealer. Thanks in anticipation.
Pete

Re the fault 16056 have you already checked this thread:

Re the fault 15560 (=P046C) have you already checked these threads:

Thanks mmi, I hadn't seen the first one re 16056 error. Lots of interesting stuff there. I don't know if Carista can do live data logging, I'll have a look.
Still tempted to change the sensors and perhaps the valve as they're not expensive.

Welcome to T6F. . .

can you get some code scans for us to work on. . .

and post a few pics of your van as well.

Thanks for getting back to me, i only have the most recent codes from a Carista and not the mechanics, not sure how much info they will give you?

16056 fixed by changing the brown oil pressure sensor - 5 min job. Shame I spent hours changing the green sensor and regulating valve first! Must be a moral to the story!!

Hi all

Any one had issues before with error start stop on a T6? When plugged into Carista got the code 16056 - Oil pressure switch: Malfunction? Would this be the cause to the error message and is it an easy fix? It also illuminates the engine/glow warning light then all clear after engine switched off and turned back on

Any help or advise

Hello Cal and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately the issue has arisen before now, so to give you an immediate picture of what others have done, I’ve moved your post to this thread. See above for some other advice and outcomes.
Let is know how you get on

Anyone got to the bottom of this fault (16056 oil switch malfunction)? I have it also, cold start rev to 2500glow plug light on and limp mode, once warm turn off and on and fault gone. I've had both high and low pressure oil switches replaced, oil pressure regulation valve replaced, now sump is off and having oil pump replaced. Seem like the mechanics dont really know what the problem is, just chucking parts and money down the drain. Has anyone actually found the fix to this fault code? Loads of people reporting same problem

Still on it after months. VW just changed the oil pump but alas it wasn’t that. It’s a real mystery who’s ever works it out will be a T6 hero

Any joy on this? Cheers

Mines just started this (whilst on holidays in Shetland!!!). Glow plug light only comes on flashing when cold. Drive until warm (runs fine) stop engine and restart, no glow plug light but stop/start fault. Drive further and all works fine (no light and stop/start now works). Check with Carista and fault is 16056. Any ideas which (if any) switch to replace?

Have the exact same thing it seems. Unfortunately it’s a bloody nightmare. I’ve had various sensors done oil regulator done twice. Oil pump. New battery. Still no further forward.

VW droitwich have never come across this apparently which I find hard to believe as so many have this issue. Good luck and keep us all posted.

That’s awful. Does sound like it’s not a catastrophic fault as, for you, it must have been going on for some time/miles with no apparent engine damage. At this stage you must be getting near trying to disable the warning (VCDS)!!

Think I’ll try easy first, check cabling then change brown sensor.

Yeah it’s probably 6-8months. Which is nuts. But it drives absolutely fine.
