Not at all.
Ironically Mrs D's Volvo, which has never put a foot wrong, started playing up yesterday, the alarm would sound every time it was locked. I knew the battery was 7 years old so I tested it, yeah, it's on its last legs, changed battery, problem solved. As other have said, a battery that's less than optimal can cause a whole load of problems.
