Had a great days fishing on the north esk today.
I landed 4 salmon and a decent sea trout and lost another 2 salmon.
Nothing fresh unfortunately.
Also did a bit foraging and got a load of chanterelle mushrooms.
My pal landed a couple salmon too.

Just finished building a new rod.
This is a 5 piece 12’6” 8 weight that I’ve designed.
I’ve used mainly plain flor grade cork for the handles and hand cut the black burnt cork for the diamonds.
Hopefully get it christened with a big salmon soon.

Nice rod build there Pal!

Thanks I’ve designed a range of mainly salmon rods and had my blanks made to my specifications in nano carbon. I use lots of different kinds of burl cork and include colour inlays in the handle. I’ve built a couple in football team colours.
I make a few spinning rods for salmon and bass but mainly concentrate on 2 handed fly rods.
I do make a lovely 10ft 7 weight single hander called the Grilse Special. That also Spey casts well. Thats the rod in pics with the fish.
My 11ft switch rod is very popular.
Then my range goes from 12’2” right up to 16’6” for the nutters that fish the lower Tay.
I’ve got demo rods I send out to anyone interested to try out before placing an order.
My rods start at £300 and go up to £600. That’s using the best of materials and built to the customers specifications and personalised with name or beat etc.

I will keep you in mind if im after a new rod or damage one. I have about 15 rods inthe garage but the two that get used the most are my switch and my 12,6.
