Cool. Let me know how it goes this weekend.
:)

We will be sleeping downstairs on a RIB bed so it will hopefully be reasonably comfortable with just a wee bit of memory foam.

Cat 6 Piggyback

One commonly used solution to cable-length limitations is something called HDMI over Cat 6. Steven D'Addone, co-owner of Intra Home Systems in New Jersey, an installer of high-end audiovisual systems, swears by the technology. "We only run Cat 6," he says.

Can run longer lengths of cat6 and it's a little more flexible than your average hdmi cable so will go around bends much easier. The connector box will need to be powered at each end I presume.
Just an idea.

The issue is not length it is more getting through the OEM tailgate.. with so many wires runing into tailgate, it is near impossible to get the head of the HDMi through the routes I have been using. I have now bought a micro HDMi to see if I can pull that through.. but don't hold much hope.
The way the tailgate is formed the 'fishing' wires/probs come out of the void's and cut corners that are not big enough for the following cable head.. the more you pull the more it jams... with no access to guide it round said corners its dame difficult.. even using existing cable to guide they still cut corners.
Hard to explain really.

Think think only option is to add another flex grommet and hose that is at the top of the tailgate..into the center roof void

The observation here is that cat6 cable is a LOT thinner than your average hdmi plus the connector is much smaller too.... But it sounds like you want to re-engineer it...

Thanks mate.
I am liking the idea and looking to add a cat 6 for future proofing.

Also has the benefit that you can feed the naked cable through a smaller gap and wire up the connector afterwards

Won't know till weekend mate. But seem good.. what I am not sure about is how they'll be on the HiLo bed board.. is 40mm really good enough?. Deaky has suggested maybe an additional 10/20 bit of foam.. or maybe I will try a inflating mattress if required.

I've been camping for many years. In and out of vans, my pennies worth !
Alp Kit Dozer two of them normal pillows and a double Hungarian Goose Down Duvet

The only way to go now

Would a double fit in HiLo.. can't remember the width without measuring.

Not sure of the dimensions of the hilo but the double dozer is 129cm in width. Fits perfect when the rear bench or reclined.

What is that??? Looks more like a steel storage box than a battery. How big is that thing?

@Fish how did you work your waterpump with the slimline tank if you dont mind me asking?

I'm considering either a slimline affair like yours in the DS panel / a wheelarch CAK or possibly a custom made underslung in the spare wheel slot (std underslung wont work for me with a 4motion).
