Fitting Single Sliding Rails and Cali Bed.

I checked both rails, there are 10 square holes per rail, I’ve got bolts in 7 on the nearside and 8 on the offside.
Seems like plenty from my point of view, without crawling under the van to see if the others are obstructed I’m satisfied.
It’s a Verso conversion on a SWB Kombi and the Cali bed won’t be in the same location as a California.

Rightly or wrongly I bonded (sikaflex) these sections of ply onto the van floor in the kombi/load ring cutouts in the mat. Using the sikaflex to make up the difference in height I could adjust them so they sat just underflush of the load mat to allow for some compression in it.
I then screwed (possibly bonded too I seem to remeber to prevent squeaks) the one piece ply floor to these.
Seemed to work well enough. Near side rail aluminium trim was a little 'tight' to get it to clip in though and had to relieve some of the ply to create a slightly bigger gap around the rail/clips.
Hello, I had some doubts about the floor.
How does it feel to step on? firm or soften?
The height of the wood is 12mm, the vinyl? 3mm?
Thanks!

Hi, I dont suppose yu have the part numbers for the Aluminium rail tops and the bits at each end with the D loops in please?

Thanks

Sorry no I don't. I'll have a look to see if I have any paperwork left for them but I don't think so....

Thanks @Andysmee, that has the rails that have a tiny cut out. I think they were updated with ones that all the front section (about 30cm) is removed. I was trying to find those.
Plus i am struggling to find the correct colour of end caps to match my van. There are a few. :/
@Pauly any chance you could check this in etka as 7zap only goes to 2016 models

Thanks again @Andysmee, I have bought rails that have a part number 7H5 883 189 E. I have since found out that earlier rails are different to the later ones and have different part numbers. I am wondering now if the rails I have bought wont fit? @Pauly
Thanks in advance.

Anyone know the difference between parts 20 (7E5 883 183) and 21 (7E5 883 189) on that diagram on 7zap? (seat runner for sliding seat; D - 03.11.2014>> Transporter (TR) 2016 year Volkswagen EUROPA 885081).

@Skyliner33 where did you buy rails from? I finally got round to buying a Cali Ocean seat, now need to get hold of rails and brackets. I rang Colin at VWVC a while back and he's no longer supplying rails, only doing the fitting. Would prefer to buy new but wondering how easy this is to go through a VW dealer. What sort of price should I be looking at?

I got my rails from Martin at NW Transporter parts. He has a few more sets in, but they really would need new aluminium runners and plastics, but they are not that expensive. I just got off the phone to Colin at T5 and he said for 2 SWB rails from VW looking at over 1k. a set of 4 caravelle rails over 2.1k.

Happy to look up what I can if one of you can supply the details ie part numbers required vs year of manufacture

Hi @j4ckal I notice you have a LWB van. Can you tell me which rails you fitted, they look like SWB ones, are they Cali rails or Caravelle ones? Also did all the square holes match up correctly with the mounting points under the van?
Thanks

Hi, did you order your rails from VW? I have done a bit of research since then. I believe that there is a couple of differences between this rails 20 and 21. Rail 20 is for the outside position. Rail 21 for the middle rails. Rail 20 is therefore slightly longer and also takes the D ring tie down points at each end.
