Evening all

Has anyone got this combo? Want to up rate my leisure battery but don't want to get the battery and it doesn't fit with my swivels.

Cheers

Are there any deals going on the Roamer 230Ah SB3 Matt? Great company to deal with and it certainly fits under there...

@Drive Wayne was there any specific reason for buying the seat base Roamer 230Ah rather than the seat base 230Ah Fogstar?
Looking at specs, the Fogstar seems better with internal heating & on/off button & £200 cheaper?

Roamers aftercare has been excellent, both on the phone and by email, I can't comment on the Fogstar experience, other than they have a hand in my vape batteries. OK, I may be guilty of being a bit snobbish, but I will use Roamer again in my next creation! I still wouldn't buy a Skoda, I'm just old fashioned that way. The Roamer app is good too, the whole set up to me is worth a couple of hundred notes extra, makes me feel all warm inside!

Did you have any issues with the non heating part of the Roamer, during the cold snap we've just had?
I emailed Roamer re this and they suggested it wasn't needed or necessary. Spoke to Fogstar at the NEC show and they suggested it was good to have, to enable charging at low temp.
Discharge at low temps are the same for both.
Choices, choices...

It worked as intended and at 0 degrees it stops accepting charge, no problems pulling power from it though. Battery heating is certainly a 'good to have' if you're going to freezing places. My Mrs won't do camping in freezing! Roamer have another range of batteries for freezing temperatures. I won't be needing one of those!

I have the Roamer: Build quality is superb. Can’t comment on the Fogstar as no experience, but they are slightly taller.
I tend to agree that, in the UK anyway, a heating element isn’t really needed.
If I had the need to raise the battery temperature I could just pull some current by boiling a kettle, but I don’t let my van get that cold anyway.

So I am currently sat in the van changing my webasto rheostat heating control for a Multicontrol, putting a new temp sensor in the right place this time (so it works), using my SDS drill, while my motorcycle helmet camera and batteries for my bike gloves and phone are all charging away happily! That warm fuzzy feeling again! Especially with the diesel heater on now! It all helps me forget the initial price of the Roamer!
The quality of the product remains long after the price is forgotten! Still get flashbacks though....

Can I justify £500 more for the Roamer though? Seems steep for essentially the same thing
Fogstar @ £800
Roamer @ £1080
£280 difference?
My thoughts are the same as yours @Matt-T68— why is it so much more for actually a lower spec?

There's an ex-display fogstar drift here for £650, it's got the smallest of marks on it. That's £110 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen.

Not any more there isn't

Mines an obscure Chinese one I wouldn't necessarily recommend! Victron will be the sensible choice? Renault-gy?

All my other kit is Renogy and I have to admit has been faultless thus far.

May just be redesigning the underseat this weekend!!
