Fridges & Cold Beer -- How I Done It --

Found this on Alibaba, although postage appears more than the actual item.

I can’t decide between the Vevor 45L which is a bigger single basket and very small freezer, or the Alpicool T50 with the 2 similar size compartments. I don’t expect to use a freezer much so think T50 would be more useful, anyone had the same thoughts and offer advice?

the divider can be removed in the T50...

So I’ve just bit the bullet and bought this off Amazon £192 with the 20% off, which is an absolute bargain! Got the 300w inverter to try out too :)
Question: I have a 75Ah leisure battery and CFU terminal block, which was fitted from the factory, as far as I’m aware it was an option needed to run in conjunction with the OEM parking Aux heater.
Would the leisure battery handle both the aux heater fans and the fridge or should I get a portable battery box as a backup?
If it can, would it be a case of running straight from a fuse on the terminal block?

Edit: Had a read back through the thread with it being an AGM battery, half of 75Ah is definitely not going to be enough

+++++++

I had my eye on these as soon as they were released the other year. . . . but with a £800+ retail price they were way too rich for me,

in the meantime id kept an eye on Ebay etc for a better priced unit - hoping for a maybe.

Lucky for me T6F come up trumps with a fellow member selling one in the SALE section on T6F . . . .

.

so . . . .

.

I Purchased from said fellow T6F member recently and had it under test for a while, , ,

1648822952978.png

size wise its very similar to all the other 35/40/50L fridges, they all normally have the same footprint but get progressively higher as the volume sizer increases.

1648823043571.png

spec plate:

1648823075543.png
.

They have ALU sprung loaded handles at either end that feel good and chunky.

1648823568614.png

.

they have continued the power connection method over from the previous generation, with a built in 240v PSU, (so no power brick to drag around)

so you just get a mains cable and a 12/24vdc cable.

1648823141002.png

this time we get a cracking new display, and the USB charge port too..

1648823223469.png

the screen is a massive upgrade form last time.

it shows you the AC/DC connection method and DC voltage.

it give you access to the menu,

it has WIFUI ab BT.

it show you when the compressor is running,

if the lid is open,

and any alarms.

1648823316772.png

inside we have the standard layout of main section and upper section, plus a nice LED light,

the lid is removable, but not adjustable.

1648823394873.png

plugging it in we can see it draws around 70w when the compressor is 100% . . . then throttles back to 0w when idle.

this show the same on AC and DC.

1648823461857.png1648823490804.png

The menu system allows various settings as you would expect . .

1648823623987.png

But this time we have a Decent APP to . . .

over on the Play store we can get . . . DOMETIC CFX3 - a dedicated APP for the new range of CFX3 fridges . .

1648823710832.png

..

install the APP, Pair the phone - job dome.

1648823757454.png

The APP sown some useful info . .

current battery voltage or AC modes,

lid open or closed,

compressor on/off

any alarms,

you can change all the settings from the APP to . . . which is nice.

1648823820237.png1648823831520.png

one new feature that i love is the power usage monitor . . .

it shows the hour/day/week power plots. . .

power used in Ah/h & the internal fridge temp in DegC/F

1648823940798.png1648823975328.png

Very High quality . . . . but with a high price tag to match . . .

1648824019570.png

..........

power wise, I've been keeping the Beers cold for 3days now running of this Ecoflow power pack . . ( well these four Pale Ales & a temp sensor)

1648824139230.png

The compressor is very quite, but audible when ruining at full blast.

The comptroller ramps the power up/down very gradually . . . so you never notice a hard ON/OFF of the compressor its always very gradual.

.

Conclusion, - a top quality fridge that comes highly recommended. . . (with a useful phone APP )

They do a cover for it thats been ordered, watch this space for that update.

edit:

the only thing i don't like is that the APP history DATA clears when you power off the fridge. . .

The Fridge don't sore any data . . . nor does the APP.

that's a disappointment, but an easy fix with APP programming . . . for example just swapping from AC to DC during testing was enough to loose the whole weeks data . . . . GRRR.

i think they could at least add a calendar feature to the APP and start logging data from the fridge . . . so you have history to review.

instead - you loose everything if the fridge is powered down.

not a deal breaker - just an annoyance and probable oversite from the APP developers.

yes as you see . . . you will only get half of that 75Ah AGM battery.

compressor fridge allone, maybe 3 days. (without charging)

add in the heater. . . . . maybe 1day. (without charging)

..........

do you have a DC-DC charge fitted? - or still using the OEM Split charge relay?

++++

its an easy fix though,

add more batterys,

swap for bigger battery,

swap to a lithium battery ( my preferred choice)

add some solar, either fitted or mobile, ( look at getting 100W per 100ah battery for sizing)

or just add in a mobile power bank for now as a backup.

This lid can be used as a seat, or as a work surface with a location for the chopping board provided, neatly stored on the underside of the fridge lid.

With the Alpicool having the Dual Climate option, you can store a range of different food and drink products at a temperature which suits the whole party. The Mobile APP connectivity is great way to monitor the fridges battery capacity along with making sure the Temperature is set to where you like it. @Dellmassive Surely must be space in your set-up for another fridge.....
im so, soo, , , ,sooooo, , , soooooo.

sooooooooooooooooooo

Tempted.

:mexican wave:

but, I've only just got that second Domectic one.

maybe ill have to sell of a couple of fridges? - to make room for one of those. ( i have 5 around me at the min , the missus is NOT HAPPY !! )

its the battery and built in solar controller that does it for me. - thats an awesome feature.

I have the Alpicool 65ltr unit, which has a 12v supply and 240 volt suplly leads. I have also rigged up a spare solar controller via an Allpower solar panel for added redundancy.

Does anyone want to swap a Vevor 45L for my 55L. I need a 45l now so it can fit on the tray and under the multi board. I bought the 55l just before Bala weekend and used for the 2 days so it is as new. A4599B32-8AF8-4348-AC96-64C958FFB05B.jpeg8E85C98C-4996-4C5C-B706-75DB39B81C8D.jpeg
