Front nearside wheel not central to arch.

Hi @whiterocksurfs ....I've just relooked at the near side and off side pictures and it look like both wheels aren’t central ( I hope I’m wrong) but if it the case the problem could be more extensive...you would really need a good second opinion
We do feel ur pain...

I think thats just the position the photo was taken from....from the 1st post:

On the Drivers side, Front gap is around 8.5cm's and rear gap around 8.5cm's.

Im sure I saw someone posting about this on faceache a couple of months ago. Silver van as well. I imagine it's probably the same.

I did trawl the net looking at T6'S for sale and I did see another silver van with the same thing on one side, I thought maybe this could be a common thing with T6 vans, and thought that maybe the wheel position could be adjusted forward or back. Hence the reason for asking, if it was adjustable or if someone knew exactly the cause of it. After measuring wheel centre to centre both sides as asked by someone else. It looks like it is only 10mm out in reality, So could just be a slight push back on the lower wishbone. I have ordered another one and will fit it this weekend, and see what happens.

Hope that works for you

Put it on full lock and see if the wishbones look the same age? If be surprised if it's hit something hard enough to bend the strut (or whatever happened to it to require replacement) that the wishbone wasn't cracked or badly bent hence needing replacement?

Also check if the hub carrier looks the same age, should be able to see on full lock no bother

Have done, they both look the same.
The van is only one year old with 5000 on the clock.

If the wishbone does alter the position then you’ll need to adjust the tracking (or at least have it checked)

I’ll be underneath mine on Saturday fitting seat brackets so if you need me to take any subframe measurements / pictures let me know.

Good Luck

Ian

This is the subframe, the rear tubes are pretty accessible to measure. I’d look for any movement on the fixings and side to side symmetry.

They dont look mega money on ebay but no idea whats involved with changing one.

Thanks. I did mess around with the tracking adjuster to see what happened to the wheel. I then checked it with a spirit level across the arches to re set as best as possible. I can only imagine it to be the lower wishbone, as there is rubber between the wishbone and the sub frame. I cannot imagine that the suspension damage has caused the subframe brackets to move out of place, with rubber mounts in between any other parts. Hopefully when the new lower wishbone gets here this weekend, this will sort it out. I will take it in and get it tracked up properly, after I sort this out.
