Fuel Economy, 102ps Or 84ps

Same here. I’ve had an indicated average of 55mpg when taking it easy on a run, but generally get low 40’s on a decent run at motorway speeds. 102bhp camper on 16” wheels.

For years I’ve had ‘underpowered’ large estate cars (max toys min engine) and I’ve never had any issues keeping up max speeds on the yearly trek through the mountains to the south of France fully loaded with large roof box and I’m thinking the 102 camper with 19s will the same. It will suffer mpg round towns though I guess as it’s having to work hard.

I’ll try to remember to trip the counter at the next brimming, it will be interesting to see how it compares. I think 50s may be a distant dream with my lead boots though!

IM a 102 with a full conversion and I wouldnt go so far as underpowered, just not gonna win any light to light races. Which Im happy about. The engine has enough torque to get around, get moving and keep moving. I've had a dash reading of 54mpg before with a 60mph steady run up the motorway but most of the time its 40's.
Thats good mileage, ours is a 102 with full camper conversion, 20" wheels . I get average 28/ /29 mpg round town, on the motorway the highest average I have ever had was 41mpg and thats going steady @ 70/75mph. I don't understand why my MPG is so crap compared to other 102 owners ???:(

I’d say it’s the wheels. I had a 2.0TDi A6 with 255/35/19 factory fit wheels and I never got above 37mpg with that, whereas I can get 60MPG from the wife’s A4 with a similar engine with 205/55/16 on.

I am consistently getting 53mpg on the onboard computer on long motorway and A road driving at national speed limits. This is a 102 2019 Trendline, aircon off, lugging a big heavy exploria bed and bags of logs and other tools around. The van feels like it wants to go faster, even if I dont !

Yup, armrests down, head back on the rest, tunes on, chill. The point of the journey, is not to arrive.
Most of my van journeys, I would actually like to arrive eventually

But I know what you meant, rather than what you said

A line from a Rush track... The journey is part of the adventure, not just getting there. I never really understood that until I got the van.
