I've got similar, the driving lights are always on for me, though it's more about seeing the side of the road for suicidal wildlife (lots of roos and wombats particularly on the way to the ski fields) than caring too much about the dark patch just in front of the van (if you're looking there it's too late to avoid anything anyway!). I've just bought a 42in light bar for my roof racks, with the intention of seeing better than day, but I'm looking for a low beam option - blinding the cars driving towards you isn't the best option..
Edit: that was a very old post, my bad!

Hi all. Just swapped H4 for some H7s.
Similar to most - I can get low beam OR high beam but not both.
my local VW specialist thinks they should be plug and play and reading this thread some people seem to suggest they should be - but lots of references to coding the headlights so both beams can come on.
That being the case - vcds or carista or does it make no difference? looks like I can but carista for £25 - is that my best option?
Also - do I still need the beta version or is this now included in standard version?

Thanks in advance.

There are plenty of VCDS users that don't mind earning beer in exchange for the use of their VCDS, just need to find one near you

Carista beta.

Got carista, downloaded beta, ran the debug data, then tried to send - just keeps failing at this stage…
Anyone got any ideas? (I have a 4G signal…)

Thanks in advance

Hello, sorry if this has already been asked, anyone have experience with H7 dlr holders valeo (part no 89102096)? My drivers side has just developed a loose connection. Tried pushing the points out a bit to get a stronger connection but still a bit loose and can cut out. Should I replace like for like or is the oem (7E0998953) one better? Cheers

I have installed the following bulbs in my DRL's, I tried different bulbs from Tewnty20 but due to their form factor I couldn't get them to fit in the light housing and dind't fancy taking the headlight unit off the van to install.

The Auxito bulbs were broadly the same size as a w21w bulb and I have had no errors or lamp warnings since install. I can't testify to their longevity as they have only been in a few months but so far I'm happy with them.

I applaud anyone with the dexterity to replace the DRL bulb without removing the lamp. I struggled with it on the table!

It was not a quick task replacing the DRL without removing the lamp unit and my hands were bleeding by the end, the drivers side was worst.

It was one of those jobs that just needed to get done as the car was going for MOT the next day.

Depending on the year of your van, DRLs only need to work from march 2018. Might've saved you some blood!

I've got a set of twin H7's in the garage off my 2020 T6.1.
I could take some photos if anyone’s interested?
I've got the box and foam inserts the replacement THQ ones came so could be good for posting maybe?

Stick in LED DLR's. The bulbs are a mare to change in situ so it's easier to take the bumper off and remove the light housing just to change the bulb! An LED bulb should last a lot longer than halogen so once they're in they should last you a few years.

Which are the dry bulbs? The large capless ones?

cheers

In a H7 housing under the 2 main lenses you have the indicator and DRL and the DRL is on the outside nearest the wings.

If anyone has any of these for sale I’m still after some. Unfortunately I don’t do Facebook so don’t always see the ones on Marketplace
