I agree that it helps to illuminate the whole road when high beam is selected. However, I understand what you mean but to save any confusion for anyone thinking about upgrading, it is not essential!

They're the ones, I think @ginkster went the same way too, didn't fancy LED's in main and dipped due to potential MOT issues etc.

Don't feel too bad. I waited ages for a set and bought some when everything seemed to be around £200!
I don't mind too much though as it's worth that for the improvement.
Buy yourself Carista and you will be able to do it on there. There are not much money and useful tool to have to do other sublte changes and monitor dpf too
If carista can do, that is the best bang for buck.. as they are about £30.

I got mine from amazon, looks like its on sale, you can also get a free months subscription.
You used to need to download the 'beta' version of the app to get the option to change the light settings but don't know if this is now on the normal one. I did mine H7 THQ lights about a year and a half ago using this method
Yep, that’s what I went for too. I’ve had the DRLs for about a year now and they have been perfect. Passed MOT fine with them too.
Just search Carista on Amazon. They are reduced at the moment to £24.49 (though they were even cheaper a year ago!!). Sign up to the Beta program and the keep dipped beam on setting is in there.

Two sets of H7.
I only got upgraded H7s for the dipped, as that's where the real improvement over H4s is, and kept the original H7s in the main beam.
The Facebook bloke has delivered them..
A little concerned, I asked why is was selling them, he said he thought one was broken so brought another set, only to find it was an issue with the wiring loom..
Both have different dates..
Argh.. fingers crossed, as I have no details for the guy.. and he can just block me on Facebook
