I recently had my leisure battery installed with a DC to DC charger under my driver’s seat by a reputable company in my city. I’m planning to go back next week because I didn’t notice when I was there, they installed a double USB A connector instead of a USB C. While I’m there, I was also going to bring up my concern about the way it’s been fused and earthed. The panel at the bottom of the seat had a 12v socket and a CBE x4 fuse fitted. but if you look at the picture I attached, they put the earth to the seat base, which is not what I expected from all the installs I’ve seen online. Shouldn't it be to a bus bar or something like that? I am having a fridge delivered next week do I do the same? My knowledge of all this is very limited, so I’m not sure if I should say anything

Hi. Earthing to the seat base bolt is not ‘wrong’ per se as it will/should achieve a good earth. However, (mines a T6.1) from recollection there is a dedicated earth stud under the rubber flooring under the drivers seat. There is certainly one under the passenger. I’d expect this to be used in preference to anything else. Electrically the seat bolt will achieve the same result but, the proprietary earth stud is more professional and at less risk of damage/being removed as it’s tucked away. HTH.

The seat base bolts are commonly used as well, especially if fitting higher current devices like high end DC-DC and Inverters as you don't want to have huge currents all going through the same ground point.

Also if you fit very large batteries the "official" bolt has to be cut back and everything moved.

It's hard to really judge the quality of the work from that picture but so long as it looks neat and tidy, the crimps are well done and not "mashed", the seat bolt has been cleaned up so it's a good connection and the wires are reasonably protected from snagging and not either taut or loops lying about then you should be fine.
