Sounds like a dodgy element. Get the dealer to sort it. Like Alan says, if there is no damage to the screen, they can't wriggle out as a faulty one was fitted in the factory.
I have my custom screen go on the drivers side at it was covered under warranty but they needed photos to send to ford . As long as you don't have a stone chip on it you should be ok. The customs had a big problem with screens but it didn't help as the screen comes on when the DPF regenerates to help load the engine .
