Can anyone reasonably close to Stoke on Trent help me as My van broke down yesterday after an 80 odd mile trip on the motorway as I pulled into a petrol station near home and filled up, then the van wouldn’t start and the display said low battery voltage at 10.6 volts.
I called VW breakdown and the AA came out to me and jump started the van and he followed me home, once home he tried the van again and no start low voltage again.
There were loads of fault codes and the AA man couldn’t understand why this was happening my leisure batteries were charging at 45 amps but nothing to the cab battery at all.
Then I realised that I had temporarily attached the Victron Orion 50 xs charger negative to the negative battery terminal until I could find a decent earth point under the bonnet, I explained to the AA man about this and he removed the Victron earth from the battery and the alternator started to charge the battery.
Anyway today I have checked under the bonnet and I fitted the Victron earth to a new place under the bonnet and it’s charging the leisure batteries at 45 amps but again not the cab battery, I’ve disconnected the Victron charger but the alternator is still not charging the cab battery.
Do you think that it’s confused the engine management system and if so is there anyone near Stoke on Trent who could do this for me with payment of course as I’m in a right dilemma with the whole Victron charger thing.
Could someone with VCDS do this or could it be done with carista as I bought one of these over 6 months ago and it’s still in it’s box, I would be really great full if someone could help me with this catastrophe.
