Hi
I’ve got a problem with my 12v electrics and on the road at the moment. Basically the fridge and control panel are working so I’m assuming the PowerPart control unit is OK. But the 12v supply to lights, water pump and 12v chargers aren’t working. Have swapped the fuses even though they seemed OK and that didn’t work.

Does anyone have any idea what I can check next?

Thanks

Mike

Just because the fridge is working doesn’t necessarily mean the consumer unit is working fully. Not familiar with that make but on others the fridge often has its own 12 v feed from the leisure battery and a fuse in the unit. There may be a separate 12 volt feed from the leisure battery to run all the lights etc with an in line fuse which may be the problem .

Thank you for the reply. I’m sort of thinking the same there must be another fuse. But can’t see why they would all have individual fuses in the unit. Checked the fuse for the control panel and when I pull that it goes off and when I put the fuse back in it goes back on again. So assuming still the unit and fuses are OK so must be another fuse somewhere. Will have to do a bit more digging before a call someone out
Thanks again

When I did my conversion I followed the circuit diagram from the manufacturer Sargent which showed 2 12 volt feeds from the leisure battery to the consumer unit, one for the fridge and one for everything else. Both of these feeds had an in line fuse between the battery and the consumer unit and it may you have the same.

Thank you guys. So likely a fuse somewhere causing the problem. Just hoping it’s not hidden behind a cupboard. Will carry on with the search. Will let you know if I have any success
Once again many thanks for the replies

Good luck, does sound like a separate fuse. Had similar recently when my entertainment unit lost its sound, I eventually found a separate fuse in the amplifier itself which was stuffed under my passenger seat hidden by the leisure battery.

The instructions say that when the engine is running the 12v functions that you list above are switched off-it's obviously made for caravans.
Assuming you haven't got your engine running, it's a possibility that the wire that detects engine run is faulty so the unit thinks the engine is on.

Edit : a bit more googling I've found an installation manual for a similar model in their range. Their is a fuse on the main pcb called 'master switch feed output"
It states 'these fuses are non replaceable, to reset disconnect power"
So it's worth a try disconnection all power to the unit. It doesn't state 240v power or 12v power so I'd disconnect everything, leave for a few minutes then reconnect. You might be able to do this by removing fuse between LB and the uit and disconnecting EHU.

Thanks guys. I disconnected starter and leisure batteries and left for a good few minutes and then connected up and sorted it

Not sure it was as suggested Bigsidavies or something else but seems to have done the trick

Many thanks again everyone really appreciate the time you’ve taken
