Hello All,
I've got myself a T6 kombi, 150 in blue. Loving the van, it's mainly for work but makes a great family wagon too. I live in Hythe and it mainly gets used for my partners tea company.

Welcome to the madhouse @philboy , looking forward to more details and pics of van and shop... How's the railway doing down there? Busy yet? ;):D

Hi guys,
thanks very much for the warm welcome. My good lady Louisa runs the tea company; www.debonairtea.co.uk . I spend my time working in the Merchant Navy and am currently sitting in the control room researching carpet options for the van. I'll be home in a few weeks and will hopefully get the van sign written and post some pics. @T6 Dave the railway is as busy as ever, I do like their steam engines but also spotted a very cool diesel down there too. Come school holidays and the place will be heaving.
My job list for the van is more sound proofing and carpets in the back to make it a bit less industrial, I've also never really grown up and wouldn't mind a cheeky stereo upgrade... finding the time to do these jobs is the issue.

I'm the same when it comes to the Chooons @philboy. Google Absolute Audio or search the forum for Absolut5 (aka Jason who is Absolute Audio), he can supply some awesome kit. Many of us have various products from him in our van's, and I love being alone in mine so I can crank the volume up and give my kidneys a damn good massage!
Stay safe out on the oceans, and no opening up of the "magic pipe" to pollute our waters. Unless of course your off other waters and then dump all you like;)

@DaveyB Thanks, I've sent Jason an email. Safety first at sea, in fact Safety never takes a day off I'm told! The days of magic pipes are long gone thankfully, well for me they are, I see Princess Cruises got in a bot of bother recently and they went back a few years too, naughty boys and girls!

So I made the leap and am trading in my Ford Kuga for a T32 Kombi Highline. 2017, 22k on the clock. A little nervous as I am used to my posh leather seats and sun roof but ultimately want to convert a VW van into a adventure man cave on wheels :) I know nothing about vans aside from having to sleep in them when my band played gigs :) Hoping to get some great advice along the way..
I dislike the cloth seats but am sure they can be swapped out. The back walls are already carpeted and previous owners installed Kenwood speakers in the back van walls also.. very clean..

Welcome to the forum @Jnes make sure you get some photo’s up

Welcome, look forward to some photo's of the new beast. What do you have in mind for the adventure cave? Apart from sleeping system what else you invisiage?

Hey Fish
Well right now I am thinking what is the heater like? I envision it to be harder to keep warm than my car of course, I am told by the dealer that we are fortunate as it has carpeted walls already (sonwill that act like insulation?) possibly. So for winter what do people use?

I also am going to want to ditch the cloth seats and i would like a bed alongside one of the walls/panels that flips up out of the way

I am not keen on putting in sinks , ovens or a lot that camper tv kind of kit but would like some nice lighting and possibly shelves

A lot of ideas out there and happy to hear yours folks!
I will be carrying music equipment and my mountain bike, kids and dog - not all at the same time- each is a adventure

Really could use some ideas on seats and is the rock n roll bed I have been reading about the smartest and most affordable?

I live in Istead Rise Kent and will also be looking for specialist who can help with this work so open to referrals

So I got the van before Christmas, struggled with the dashboard light coming on right away, VW assist said its a emissions warning, code p0401. Dealer told me to drive it a fair distance on the motorway to force it to regen and clear out the filter, but it didnt work. They have taken it back today and gave me a lovely loaner, and intended on forcing a regen but are now replacing a pipe in that area. They have been very forthright and polite, I am pleased for the help although i could bitch and moan about being sold a 2017 they shouldve looked over a bit more carefully, but we will get there!

I hope to put a bed in the back, prefer a removable one if there is such a thing. I need to put dogs, bikes and music stuff in there too. (Not at the same time) I have to say I have wanted a nice van my entire life and have bought car after car not being satisfied.. I feel content finally.
Met a guy today who had a bed in his and a leisure battery.. I think i need to look at how to best design this..
