High level reverse camera install

I have a 2011 T5.1 campervan and I have just installed a new Kenwood head unit that pretty much works. Filled with that confidence boost I'm thinking of trying to install the reverse camera myself. I really want it for when I have bikes on the tow bar carrier and therefore want to install it up high so I can look down. Has anyone done this? someone on youtube has done this on the barn door brake light at the top and it looked a huge effort. Has anyone installed on on the spoiler? I'm wondering if this would be easier?

Not too much effort tbh. You either drill the lens or if fitting elsewhere, the bodywork, so you can feed the wire inside the van.
Mines still on 3 years later.

I’ve done both- rear view camera on one barn door for mirror and downwards camera on other door for reversing and viewing tow bar.

Cameras mounted on underside of spoiler with VHB.

One I went through the brake light and sealed cable with clear silicone.

The other I wrapped the cable around and over the door edge and taped with white gaffa (van is white). This was much simpler!
