How You Wash Your Van?

It's a bit more than a simple Rinse aid, and does contain a percentage of carnauba wax, albeit very small. I use this on my Black T6, after a general wash, and once dried, it does leave a film that needs buffing off, but I wouldn't really class it as a decent protection, more a very temporary one that's ideal as a maintenance product. It's also great if you have hard water, to reduce water marks.

Autoglym do a specific Rinse aid, but i've never used it personally.
Sorry chap, I was referring to Autosmart "Aqua Wax".
But seriously try either the Gyeon or Carpro spray on wet products, think you'll be impressed.

Q.
What is the point in paying for an expensive grit guard bucket?

Surely you don't actually need a grit guard? If your washing your van and have picked up grit, then the mitt and water needs changing(or washing out). If you get to the point of not being able to see the bottom of the bucket then the water is too dirty!

Is it me or am I missing something?.
This is why a pre-wash stage is important, it's all about doing what you can before actually physical contact with the paintwork. So spray a citrus based de-greaser/apc to heavily soiled areas and leave to dwell, then hit it with your pressure. If you do this then your rinse bucket will last longer.

Grid guards do help, just think of it as another tool to minimise reintroducing dirt back on to your paintwork.

Y'know, I've always been a sceptic when it comes to those who practice the dark arts of snow foaming and two bucket washing. I gave up using sponges many years ago, but putting a big chunk of retirement money into an expensive car brings about a different focus. Wreck the paint & I'm screwed if I ever sell it etc.

So I'm a convert. Will be getting a Karcher this month, along with some snow foaming & lance setup, and my shelves are now groaning with 'product' and if/as/when the new van is finally delivered, the Grand Plan is to get it ceramic coated ASAP to assist with all of this.

Life used to be so simple..

I bought this as a drunken purchase. Works very well and being petrol is very powerful.
Thats not me in the picture nor is it my house. I have no recollection of lending it to this bloke so if you see him in your area make sure your garage is locked.

Sick looking bus dude!

Which products have you tried, any good?
I’ve never really washed a car properly before, the van was done at the jet wash and the cars at the £15 drive through. Since owning my new van and reading this thread I’ve developed a bit of an obsession with auto cleaning products! My van is now sparkling clean however I have noticed some very light scratches on the bottom of the dash cluster and they are driving me mad! Is there a product that will polish these out? My fear is damaging the soft plastic Screen
Any further

Can’t beat a drunken purchase ;)
