1. What is the hybrid turbo? One electric?
2. How will you pass an MOT without the DPF?
1. Hybrid meaning, honed out turbo casing and bigger turbines put in.
Bigger horse power and torque
Better flow rates
2. The mot is never going to be a issue for me here in the UK if I was to get it MOTed.... say no more.
It will not need a uk mot here anyway as its Republic of Ireland registered and will stay like that.
I'm a citizen of ireland so changing it over to UK plates is something I don't have to do.
Do Darkside do a hybrid for it? My lad has an ex Darkside Fabia that makes around 240 horsepower. It's been faultless. They build some good kit.
@Loz The process is using components from other turbochargers into either stock or modified original housings. The mating of these different parts is referred to as hybrid-ing.
The Fabia has no cat. Him working at the test center aside, he told the tester that it was 2022, and his downpipe had chosen to identify as a cat.
To be honest I don't think darkside offer anything hybrid... correct me if I'm wrong.
They rather sell bigger turbos with adapters or custom manifolds
I'm sure I heard them say in a YouTube vid that they don't mess with hybrids
Either way, they are not a turbo specialist. Yes they can sell them and give info but it takes a different skill and machinery to rebuild or hybrid turbos.
Problem with the t6 is its to new and I can't see anyone making a custom manifold to allow two different bigger turbos built into all the complications of a bitdi
Its far easier to have them built as hybrids and bolt back into the original position as the original ones.
I been checking figures today and seems that hybrids will make over 300 easily
Like I said before, I don't know the flow rates of these new t6s
Hopefully someone can tell us what bhp area the original injectors will run out of poke or the injection pump?
