I have been quiet recently.......

Oh and it's live up "to" your lifestyle... :sneaky: Anyone else can live it if they want to. But it takes some planning.

Planning your life/work so it's pleasant to live - how BIZARRE.
*massages shoulders and whispers* "it's ok man, it's ok."

One should always take into account a persons education levels before getting personal, as Dyslexia is more common than you think
Dyslexia has nothing to do with level of education - I know several people who have a high level of education and are dyslexic.

I bought my first house back in 1980, it cost half the amount I bought my Cali for. The house we live in now I bought in 1985 an down it outright, I spent more extending it to suit our needs than the original purchase price. Would I move yes and I'd go to Wales where its quiet. I'd love to live in Cornwall like you @Polzeylad but I could not handle all the influx of visitors in the Holidays. Used to be bad when I went down there in the 1970's must be hell now

It's easy to escape the hordes if you know it well but yes, it's a pain. I sort of welcome the visitors at first but it does wear thin.
Partly why we naff off to Galicia for the Summer; it's quiet there even in August!!

What have I started!?! Calm down all! I am not questioning how anyone else lives, just sharing how I would like to live. What I want to do baffles my friends and family as I have a nice house, awesome vehicles and a truly well paid and amazing job. I don't want to leave work as I love it, I just want to live a simple life where I am not in a house. Of course, there is one thing bigger than selling the house and you will laugh still this........I need to learn to swim! Oooooppps, forgot that bit! Lol!

Each to their own I suppose.

Personally for what I would pay to rent, a mortgage would cost me less and the house would be going up in value so a bit of a no brainer as far as im concerned.

Good for you Buggirl.......you have my total admiration. I have conformed to the norm.....married/mortgage/kids blah, blah, blah! I shun debt....to me a mortgage was an acceptable form of debt....as I said, I conformed. Doesn't mean I'm totally fulfilled. The kids have gone......both to Australia.....one a sparky, the other a doctor. No, it wasn't something we said.......actually, it was! Both me and the lovely Mrs Mopardave told them there's a big world out there....go see it! They called our bluff.....but we helped them financially and in every way possible so it's our fault! We sold the family home and live in a flat we already owned.....I needed it for work. We never inherited anything or had help from well off parents.....it's all graft.....we just keep beavering away. I'm fortunate....I know it.....but here's the thing......for months, I've been wondering what the hell it's all been for and right now, I'm soul searching and at a real crossroads. There really is no right or wrong to this......you do what you think's right at the time. If you do that, then you can't reproach yourself. Re: the argument, buy or rent....I once read a book called The Big Short....about the housing bubble and financial crisis! It makes you wonder about this hamster wheel we're on.
Anyway, got carried away there.....so once again with feeling.......Buggirl, you're doing something that most people wouldn't have the guts to do....me included. If it feels right, trust your gut instinct and please accept the very best of luck from me and Mrs Md......go girl!!!
