Can I please get a price for tweeters, door speakers amp and underseat sub? Cheers

I’m looking to solve the same. Spoke to Jason at Absolut5 and he was super helpful. I’m in Suffolk and so Amesbury is a road trip, but hey that’s why I bought the van!

He did point out that there is no wiring into the sliding doors. Kind of obvious when you look at them. Bummer though as a big flat expanse to put speakers in!

Anyway, I’m going to check out a few installs before I commit.

Pretty sold on Hertz, again Jason’s advice. I have previously put some Rainbow and Bavsound stuff in a couple of BM’s so not a newbie, but no expert either.

Will follow your thread to see what you do and let you know what I come up with.

@rse, just noticed the date on your post!

So what did you do? Assume you’ve put something in by now.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing.............. What's the sound like in the back of a kombi as standard ?

I think I can get the speakers fitted for £250ish while it's getting lined which would probably save me a bit of ball ache but I don't know how good the speakers are - I'm not an audiophile or anything but I like my music and I'd sooner have some decent speakers in there that aren't going to rattle and distort. Will look into those Hertz speakers if they're good ?

I've got a hertz amp and JL sub from Jason @Absolut5. installed the sub under the passenger captains seat and amp under the drivers seat. As it's a 4 channel amp I wired the sub by bridging 2 channels and decided to run 2 6x9 speakers in boxes and installed them under the rear bench seat so I can then simply remove them if I need to and no messing about trying to install speakers in side panels etc ..people might say that you should amp the front speakers but I wanted sound in the rear. in my opinion it sounds ok and it works for me.

Just to add ...I got my wiring harness from Skipton Audio....this was a plug and play with RCA outputs and rear speaker cables ...which will allow me to add another set of speakers or I can add another sub to the amp and wire the 6x9s to the rear output on the headunit

ok - you lost me about half way through there - I'm not looking to hold a rave in the back or out - I just want to let the kids hear the music without having to deafen myself to do it. There's only so much Greatest Showman songs I can take.

Can I (by I, I do of course mean someone who isn't a complete idiot at all things mechanical) not just run some more cables from the head unit without putting an Amp & sub and all that in ?

Yes look on Skipton Audio and get the harness then get the head unit coded to allow rear radar

The harness is easy to install...and then route the speaker cables to where you want the rear speakers

The skipton loom looks easy as it is plug and play but it needs room at the rear for the extra male/female connectors which are quite large and depending which headunit you have space behind it can be really tight
If you are only looking to add rear speakers then all you need is some speaker cable with the correct crimps on the end, its pretty easy to fit as they slot straight in to empty terminals on the back of the headunit

I agree, unless you have the basic media it’s a pain fitting extra loom/plugs etc much easier with just pins

Nice! Can I get a quote too please Absolut5, I have a SWB Kombi,

I don’t think I have the confidence to fit anything myself, but would like a new head unit, subwoofer, etc.......basically a new system fully fitted.

Cheers

Looking for advice on upgrading my speakers as part of my conversion adventure.

Now I love a good tune, but won't be heading down to Tesco's on a Friday night anytime soon to see if I can drown out the boy racers with my excellent (read 'eclectic') song choices. Aiming for a budget of £200 - £250 so a separate Amp is out of the question and i don't really want to be using up loads of space with that option anyway.

So far I've pretty much settled rear speakers and under seat sub sorted, but can anyone give me an idea what size/shape/colour (joke) i will need to fit in the front doors? Is there anything I need to be aware of? and is it worth spending a little extra to get the woofer/tweeters that come with the separate filter or are those just a bit of a gimmick?

Cheers in advance.
